Second, each player randomly choose reporter card. (or each player pick the character that he like instead of random.). Then place character pieces on the start spot, Human Village. Each player also receive his/her character chip counters for place on scene boards as a reminder of articles that he/she obtained, so it's recommend to keep its close at hand.

Next, randomly pick 6 out of 9 scene cards and separate into 2 sets of 3 cards. Then put the cards face up on both scene boards (as the example below.). The orders of article don't have any effect on game play.

Fourth, pick indication cards that have game logo on the bottom left of the card's picture.

Indication-logo.jpg

There are 6 of them as follow :

Japanese English
ムカデタクシー(リグル) Centipede Taxi(Wriggle)
式の式と猫と猫(橙) Shiki's Shiki and Cat and Cat(Chen)
通行止め(ルーミア) Road Blocked(Rumia)
歌う標識(ミスティア) Sing Sign(Mystia)
天狗の抜け道(椛) Tengu's Secret Path(Momiji)
三途の水先案内(小町) Sanzu's Pilot(Komachi)

Then place them on indication board next to dice face from 1 to 6 in any order. Shuffle the rest of indication cards and put it where everyone can reach as indication card pile.

Finally, decide player turn order, generally with Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Game Objective

This game objective is "collected 3 articles, then reach the goal, Tengu Resident". There are 2 sets of 3 articles (2 scene boards), player need to complete only one sets (3 scene in the same scene boards) before he/she head to goal.

Game Flow

Replace Indication Card

At the beginning of player turn, that player draw one card from indication card pile and replace one of the six card on indication board (as the example, which show half, below.).

Indication-replace.jpg

However there are two rules in replacing card :

1. Player must replace one of card on indication board with drew card.

2. There must be at least one card for each type of move (move, fly and special indicate on the lower right of the card.), but each type must not exceed three cards.

It may sound complex, but it can boil down into these, "must have three colors on board" and "the same color can't be 4 cards or more".

So there can be only two situations on indication board, 2 cards of each type or 1 card of type A, 2 cards of type B, 3 cards of type C.

Discard the card that got replaced into another pile. When an indication card pile is running out, shuffle the discard pile and use it again.

Throw a dice

After finish replace indication card, throw a dice. Compare the dice face with the one on indication board, then do as the card next to that dice face indicate.

Example-dice-face.jpg

(Example, player get 1 from dice throw so he/she move 2 spaces as the card indicate.)

Move Character Piece

Player can move his/her piece to any spot that is connected to where his/her piece is, but he/she can't go forward and then back using the same route in the same tun (as example).

Obtaining Article

On scene cards there is an indicate where that scene happen.

Scene-indicate.jpg

The player must end his/her move on the spot, not pass through, to count it as he/she obtained that article. Place one of his/her character chip counter in the white circle under the scene cards to indicate that he obtained that article.

Please note that articles that got obtain by one player, do not prevent other players player from obtaining it. Also, it's possible to obtain an article in other players turn, if his/her piece land on the spot that indicate on scene card.

Heading to Goal

Player is eligible to win the game by being the first player who reach the goal, Tengu Resident, with a complete set of articles.
