音楽はゲーム内のMusic Modeで聞けるのにうっかりサントラまで手に入れてしまわれた皆様こんにちは。あきやまうにです。

Hello to everyone who thoughtlessly bought this soundtrack when they just could've listened to the music in the game's Music Mode. Uni Akiyama here.

さて、緋想天でのうどんげの扱いの酷さは一体どういうことでしょうか。
性能は最弱と言われ、ストーリーモードではあんまり登場しないし、このサントラに使われている絵でも、ブックレットでは首を切られる位置に配置されてるし、ねんど人形はなんか見た目が恐かったりと、何か恨みでもあるのでしょうか。
そういえば曲のアレンジのされ方もやる気が感じられませんよね。
関係無いですけど2Pカラーがあんな色なのは私の所為です。
一切自重しません。
でもこのサントラが出る頃にはすでにパッチが出てうどんげは厨性能になってると思いますので(妄想)きっと皆さん満足できます。

Now then, what on earth did Udonge do to deserve such cruel treatment in SWR?
It's said she's the worst character, she doesn't show up much in Story Mode, in the artwork for this soundtrack, she's placed so her head is cut off, and her eyes are scary like a clay doll's. I wonder if someone has a grudge against her.
Also, when I was arranging her song, I didn't really feel motivated to do it.
This is completely unrelated, but her 2P color is my fault.
I have no self-control at all.
However, when this soundtrack is released, I think there will already be a patch to turn Udonge into a newbie character (just a crazy idea), so I'm sure that will make everyone happy.

曲のことを書かないでページを全て埋めようかと思ったのですが、曲に関するコメントを見たいという奇特な方がおられるようなのでがんばって書きます。
いやほんとがんばらないと書けないんですよ。
どのくらいがんばらないといけないかというと、コメントを書かないとなんとCDに入れる曲が一曲増やせるくらいのがんばりです。
小学生のとき、作文とか読書感想文とか書かされたじゃないですか。あんな感じの苦労です。

I think I could fill the whole page and never talk about the music once, but to the benevolent readers who want to see comments about the music, I will now do my best.
I can't write at my best without my headphones though.
No matter how hard I try or even if I write any comments at all, I did put a lot of effort into the extra song on this CD.
When I was in elementary school, I didn't really do things like writing down my thoughts. Too much trouble.

曲名をつけるのも結構大変だったりします。
一応、ストーリーが分かってから曲名を付ける訳ですが、内容に直結した曲名を付けるのもよろしくないので、割と抽象的なイメージで付けることになります。
節操無く付けるのもなんなので四字熟語にしてみました。萃夢想では二文字でしたね。

Coming up with names for these songs was rather difficult.
At the time, I named the songs after whatever point they were used in the story, but I didn't really like how the name had nothing to do with the song itself, so I assigned them names with an abstract image.
I shamelessly gave them four-character names. IaMP's songs only had two characters in the title.

イベントシーンの曲は後半の曲以外、割とどこにでも使えるような汎用的な物になっています。
「盛り上がるかっこいい曲」の方が作るのが楽で評価も高いのですが、個人的には普通の汎用的な曲の方がゲーム音楽では大事だと思っています。
あと、普段作っているのが激しいアクションの曲ばかりなので、まったりしたイベントの曲というのは実に貴重です。良いものです。

For the event scene songs, except for the second half of them, they needed to be used anywhere so they took on a generic-like quality.
I place a lot of value in making "exciting, cool songs", but personally, I think that normal, generic songs are important for a game as well.
It's normal to make a lot of exciting songs for an action game, but the more relaxed event songs are important too. They're good.

今回、イベントシーンの曲は、スタッフロール曲である「東方緋想天」が元としてあり、全てそこから派生して作られました。
一つのテーマのみで作ることの効果がどれだけあるか分かりませんが、一つの作品としての統一感は出たのではないでしょうか。

This time for the event scene songs, I used the credits song "Eastern Sky of Scarlet Perception" as a base, so they were all derived from that song.
I really didn't know how making so many songs from a single theme would turn out, but I guess they don't really feel like a single song.

対戦時の曲は、ストーリーで決まっていた背景、神社・森・川・山のイメージから作られています。
多分。

For the fight music, I made them based on the backgrounds they were to go with in the Story Mode: Shrine, Forest, River, Mountain.

神社(地の色は黄色)は最初に作った曲なので、私が考えている一般的な東方っぽさが凝縮されています。
大体最初に作る曲が一番イメージに近く、出来が良いです(当社比)。

I made the music for the Shrine stage first (The Ground's Color is Yellow), and I tried to condense the general concept of "Touhou" into it.
Generally, if the first song is the closest to that image, it's good (among my other works).

そして後の方に作る曲は、イメージしていた物から離れていくことに。
山(嘲りの遊戯)は酷いですね。
多分フラメンコギターが使いたい病か何かだったのだと思いますが。

And for making songs for the final parts of the game, I had a "detached" image in mind.
The mountain (Ridiculous Game) sure is brutal.
Maybe I should've done something about my flamenco guitar usage illness.

森から川で使われている二曲(香る樹葉花・踊る水飛沫)は全く同じ曲で、二曲間がシームレスに移行します。
最初からこのような演出をすることを決めていたら、こんな汎用性の低いフレーズにはしなかったのですが、うっかり3月くらいに思いついてしまったので無理矢理作りました。
この処理にはプログラム的な苦労が色々あったようです。

RTS作るときはもっとがんばって!

The two songs used for the Forest-to-River jump (Fragrant Plants & Dancing Water Spray) have the same melody, so there's a seamless transition.
I had decided on that from the beginning, but I got careless and forgot about making low phrases like that for the generic songs. It was about 3 months before I thought about it and forced it in there.
Programming the game to handle the transition was also a lot of trouble.

  • The second paragraph seems to cut off in the middle of a sentence, but the comment is clearly cut clearly at that point in the original text, and under the paragraph are three Ikus posing. This is possibly because Uni Akiyama was going to blame a specific person but it was erased.
