English Patch?

Considering the game's semi-officiality (as Zun had a hand in it), its popularity in some circles, the fact that it uses the same game engine as "Mountain of Faith," the fact that it's free, and the fact that it's a short game, I am shocked there is no English patch for it! I'd love to see this dubious game translated to English; any chance of that happening? AceOfHeartsDX 12:27, 23 November 2010 (PST)

What is there to translate? Besides song and spell card names, there's really not enough content to warrant an English patch. If you made one yourself, that would be nice, but honestly, having the game in English doesn't enhance your experience more than it would right now. jigglyppuff8 Talk Contribs 13:51, 23 November 2010 (PST)
Eh, I suppose that's true. Spell card names are nice, but in the end, there really isn't a whole lot left to anyone who would want to "tackle" such a small endeavor; I guess I was just mystified by the moon runes. Or perhaps I was drunk; it's hard to tell. AceOfHeartsDX 13:53, 24 November 2010 (PST)

Name Issues

In terms of "The Drinking Party", I got that name from off Wikipedia, since it sounds kind of official-ish. - Kaorin

Must be because I was listening to the radio about politics on the way home, but I'm actually more in favor of that myself now, too. (Before I was reading it as party as in the thing you have with lots of people and loud music, which isn't exactly the sense the title gives.) --T. How to use the Lossy patch

Exactly how do you use this? It's confusing. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 20:24, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

This is no patch, but an archive of the entire game in lossy format. Just run thunpack.exe, and you'll should end up with a the game directory contents.
(To be honest, all this unpacker does is to extract two RAR archives, (alcostg.thr and alcostg.dat.thd), and rebuild the game data file, alcostg.dat. This is not technically necessary in the least. I just implemented it to save another few MB for the download archive (around half the size of alcostg.dat, which will become a significant amount with the main Touhou games), and to emphasize the fact that this is not the original version. Some people were already getting angry at me for "mercilessly getting rid of original game data". This should also calm down those folks.)
I'm indeed planning to release a patching tool for existing installations within the next days, which will of course be compatible with the main Touhou games. Follow the Game Tools and Modifications page for updates. --NamelessLegacy 01:24, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

Stage results

What's the third item in the list? It's always 0% for me --Tsukihime 16:28, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
