I'm sorry, I memorized your HN in an incorrect form! I assumed your name was Winae, supposing Winae was derived from a pun of Windows & Sanae KOCHIYA or was a feminum form following a Latin word "vinum" (/wi:num/ or sound like "weanoom"). I try to recorrect my writings... --Masuo64 15:10, 20 March 2008 (EDT)

Heh, well, you're correct that my name is a portmanteau! But it's a name I chose long before I'd ever heard of the Touhou Project, so the derivation is completely unrelated (and nothing to do with wine either; I happen to be a teetotaler, after all). Anyway, no offense taken!
Also, I must give my gratitude for all of your continued work helping out at this wiki. It seems particularly generous and selfless for a native Japanese speaker to contribute so much to an English wiki that's based around Japanese source material! --Winane 04:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

"Now I have to get back to that ending all over again..."

Are you trying to get screencaps of the MoF endings? I'm asking cause I have taken screencaps for all of the endings and can send them if you want. --ClownOfThorns 03:31, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for the offer! But no, I already finished fully screencapping the (Japanese) endings shortly after making that edit you quoted. (Now, if you've got a set of screencaps of the endings from the MoF English patch, on the other hand...)
(...In fact, my main reason for screencapping the Japanese endings was to assist in proofreading the eventual English patch, whenever it was to come out. But now that it's finally out, I'm too lazy to go back and recap all the endings. (Too bad that otherwise-mostly-wonderful game was pretty much ruined by the new bomb system.) D'oh.) --Winane 04:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Other Edits

Hey.. thanks for the edit.. Wrathie 01:40, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

No problem; you're welcome. ^^ --Winane 04:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

>>May as well purge junk from revision history before starting fresh. The fact that the page is missing and its link is red should be enough indication that it's unfinished, I think.

Reason is probably a result of cleaning up from spammers who inserted gibberish into a lot of red links some time ago. Instead of a delete the gibberish was mostly replaced with the closest appropriate category tag. --umhyuk 19:43, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
So, I take it you don't have any objections to just deleting such pages, now that Wikia's keeping the spambots away? Okay, good, guess I'll go ahead and tag any other such pages for deletion, then. --Winane 04:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Momidan

Osu, thought I'd drop you a line. Thanks for the minor edits and fixes with regards to the main Momidan page and Other Games page.

Wanted to ask your opinion of something, since you show at least a bit of interest and also work and help a lot around the Wiki so you'd know best I imagine. The Japanese wiki for Momidan, their Spellcard Table has a column for advice, giving ups and downs about the effects of the Spellcards. I started to do something similar in my first write-up of the Strategy page, and came to some alternatives.

  1. Cover individual card strategy as an extra column on the Items page, and in-depth strategy for combinations or groups of cards as parts of the Strategy page.
  2. Cover individual card strategy as a table on the Strategy page, followed by in-depth strategy in bullet points or heading'd sections.
  3. Only cover individual card strategy for extremely useful cards on the Strategy page, and just not cover the less impressive cards.

Could be other options, but those three were the big ones for me. Let me know what you think. St.Ninja 19:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, well, I've actually never played Momidan (nor any other roguelike, for that matter), so, I don't think I can really give an opinion on that. I'd suggest just going with whichever option seems best to you, and remember, you can always change your mind later. (Too bad Pentarou isn't around here anymore. He probably would've been more qualified to collaborate with you on any roguelikes.)
Anyway, good work so far! Just one thing to mention: Don't forget to put return links at the top and/or bottom of each page. Remember, for example, the user may not have gotten to Momidan/Items directly from Momizi and the Mysterious Cave, and would therefore need an alternative to using their browser's "back" button to get to the main Momidan article. (Yeah, they could get there in two clicks via the category link at the bottom of the page, but one click is better than two, especially at slow-page-loading sites like Wikia.) --Winane 04:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry about the Return links, and thanks for handling the Momidan ones. I'll keep in mind adding them for future articles I work on. One more question, though. For pictures, do I just add the category of the game itself, such as Momidan? Or is there other categories necessary? I noticed you have been doing a lot of picture categorization, so as I approach the load of screenshots that will be added soon, I wanted to at least get the categories right. Thanks in advance! St.Ninja 17:10, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Here you go: Category:Momidan Screenshots
In general, I figure all images should be within the Images category or one of its subcategories, so I think it's best to create a category for "[game name] Screenshots" (and/or "[game name] Images", if not all the related images uploaded are in fact screenshots; ...or whatever), and categorizing that category as both "[game name]" and "Fangame Screenshots [or Images]" (assuming it's a fangame).
However, if there's only one screenshot for a given fangame, and no expectation that more will be added any time soon, I figure it'd be silly and inefficient to create a separate category with only that one image in it. So in cases like that, I'd just tag it as "[game name]" and "Fangame [Screenshots/Images]", such as I did with Touhou Angband and its sole screenshot.
But of course, this is all just my personal opinion, and an argument could be made for ignoring my previous two sentences, for the sake of consistency. --Winane 02:48, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

About undone revision of HRtP's article

Hoot is dead. Click the link and check. I'm redirected, and that's the page I get: http://snesmusic.org/hoot/static/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkHedge (talkcontribs) 13:19, 2 June 2009 (EDT)

Hm, that's strange, it redirected me to http://snesmusic.org/hoot/v2/ instead (tested with IE 7, Opera 9.64, Firefox 3, and K-Meleon 1.5). I hadn't noticed that there was any redirecting going on until you mentioned it here, though, so thanks for pointing it out. I've gone ahead and updated the links, so please let me know if the new URL also sends you to that nonexistent "static/" page.
Anyway, if that English site about Hoot ever does actually die, Hoot itself currently still has its own site, so rather than outright removing the link, it'd be better to just change the link to point there, and leave it to the user to deal with the non-Englishness of it all. Or alternatively (or additionally), we could link to the Internet Archive's latest copy of the snesmusic.org Hoot site. --Winane 02:25, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't redirect anymore, thanks for the fix. DarkHedge 15:24, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
