- ↑ Lethe is one of the five rivers of Hades in Greek mythology. Spirits who drink from it are said to lose their memory.

Manchuuin (満中陰), literally "fulfilled Chuuin", is another word referring to this final week. Dairenki (大練忌), literally "great suppression of mourning", is a ceremony that goes on at this time.

- ↑ Goudou-Tenrin-Ou (五道転輪王) is the tenth and final judge of Hell in Buddhism, appointed to the third anniversary of a person's death. Also, "tenrin-ou" (転輪王) refers to a Chakravartin, which is an ideal ruler of the world in Buddhism.
