'''廃弾奏結界 鬼譚奏鳴曲 Demon tale sonata ''' (''haidansōkekkai kitansōmeikyoku Demon tale [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonata sonata]'') '''Abolished Symphony from the Sanctuary: Demon Tale Sonata'''
dBu returns with (what is apparently) his eleventh Touhou album.
;Running Length:
Like many of his previous Touhou works, the diversity in the music keeps the listener engaged instead of boring them with the same kind of music over and over. This time around, dBu seems to make use of newer, more interesting, sounds and effects. For example, in the tenth track ({{lang|ja|霊知の太陽信仰}} ~ Shall we fuse?), you can occasionally hear a beepy sound reminiscent of video games playing along with the music. Other tracks features sounds of wind in caves, unusual synth effects, and others feature new instruments as well. Especially prominent in quite a few tracks is a violin. It really should be mentioned that this album almost has a more old European feel to it than most of dBu's other albums (then again, that's just me).

Review

dBu returns with (what is apparently) his eleventh Touhou album. Like many of his previous Touhou works, the diversity in the music keeps the listener engaged instead of boring them with the same kind of music over and over. This time around, dBu seems to make use of newer, more interesting, sounds and effects. For example, in the tenth track (霊知の太陽信仰 ~ Shall we fuse?), you can occasionally hear a beepy sound reminiscent of video games playing along with the music. Other tracks features sounds of wind in caves, unusual synth effects, and others feature new instruments as well. Especially prominent in quite a few tracks is a violin. It really should be mentioned that this album almost has a more old European feel to it than most of dBu's other albums (then again, that's just me).

Overall, the tracks are diverse and very good. It was well worth waiting for the album's release in C75.

Standouts:
04. Green eyed jealousy

  • This track features an excellent combination of violin and piano, accompanied by a jazzy snare-dominated beat. It gives the feelings of jealousy, but also has an old-style gambling feel to it. Much different from most of dBu's works.

06. 少女サトリ

  • A very cool track. Opens with a combination of piano, pipe organ, and synth strings. Most of the song is dominated by piano, strings, and various synthesizer effects.

07. 廃獄Lullaby

  • Even though it has a clear and loud drum beat, this violin, accordion, and piano centralized piece may have you asleep before you know it... and dreaming about dangerous danmaku battles.

12. 忌憚騒命曲 ~ Demon tale sonata

  • This is an insane track, featuring many odd synth effects, an unusual beat, and a dominance of keyboard chords. Since parts of this song are in 7/8 time like the original, it may contrast with the other songs of the album.

Recommended to:

  • Fans of SA's music
  • Anyone who likes diverse music
  • Anyone who likes hard/progressive rock
  • Anyone who likes slower songs as well

Not recommended to:

  • People who don't like hard/progressive rock
  • People who don't like slow string and keyboards dominated pieces
  • People who dislike much diversity in an album
