久しぶりの小説です。普段脇役に終わってしまう様なキャラ達が主役となり、オムニバス形式で独自の視点で幻想郷と自分の内面と表現した物になっています。	It's my first novel in a while. By taking the various supporting characters and making them the focus of each chapter, I made this book to be a compilation of their own personalities and viewpoints.
この小説単体では儚月抄のストーリーは判りませんが、キャラクターの深みが少しでも出るようになればと思って書きました。	While it isn't possible to understand the whole story through this novel alone, I wrote it with the hopes to deepen the characters a little bit more.
幻想郷は森羅万象が独自の解釈から成り立つ世界となっています。時にそれが常人の理解を阻害する事もありますが、不思議な感覚を持ったキャラ達の一人称で書かれた小説ですので、一種の幻想小説として楽しんで頂ければこの本の存在意義はあるのでしょう。	Gensokyo is a world isolated from the rest of our own world. This fact is occasionally a hindrance to the understanding of most people, but as this book is written in the first-person view of characters with extraordinary senses, this book was meant to be enjoyed as a fantasy novel.
それにしても現実に月面に水が見つかったりして、まだまだ灰色の月にもロマンが詰まっているようです。事実は小説より奇なりと言うのも、現実有ってこその空想ですので当然かも知れませんね。	But nevertheless, either if the moon were actually covered in water or remained as its normal, gray self, it is filled with an almost romantic longing. They say that truth is stranger than fiction, so it may be a matter of course that we would be convinced of the existence of whatever we imagine.
普段の何気ない生活も些細な事象にロマンを感じながら過ごせば、幻想郷のキャラ達の言っている事が心地よく感じられるようになるかと思います。	Even routines can be romantic in their fine details. This is the feeling I get from what the inhabitants of Gensokyo say.
さて、ロマンを感じながら生きるという事は難しいのでしょうか？	Now, is it really so hard to have these romantic feelings in life?
月面の平原を海と呼んだ人間はそうとうロマンチックだったのでしょう。月の裏側には都があり、常に地上から見えないように姿を隠したという。謎に特別な名前を与えたりストーリーを付加させたりするなんて、やはりロマンチストの仕事です。	Perhaps whoever called the plains on the moon "seas" was a romanticist. Now, let's say there was a city on the far side of the moon, constantly hidden from the sight of Earthlings. Giving a special name and backstory to this enigma would also naturally be the work of a romanticist.
では、実際に月の都を目指したり、ロケットを完成させたりする幻想郷の住人はロマンチストなのでしょうか？	Now, what about the residents of Gensokyo who built a rocket to travel to the Lunar Capital?
幻想郷ではそれが技術の最先端であり、事実、歴史や自然摂理に反していないのですから、殆どの人間、妖怪はロマンを感じてはいない筈です。幻想郷の出来事にロマンを感じるのは、あくまでも外の人間だけなのかも知れません。	That was the cutting edge of their technology, but as it was not opposing any kind of reality, history or natural providence, very few humans or youkai if any felt some kind of romanticism in the process. The only ones who would feel that way about the happenings in Gensokyo are likely humans from the outside world.
逆に、幻想郷では外の世界にロマンを感じています。毎日毎日、仕事や勉強、その合間に次々と送られてくる情報、家を出なくても出来る買い物等々……。幻想郷から見ればロマン溢れる日常かも知れません。	But on the other hand, Gensokyo sees the outside world in a romantic light. Working or studying day after day while sharing information or shopping without leaving the house in between... That kind of lifestyle might be overflowing with romanticism to the inhabitants of Gensokyo.
日常にロマンを感じる一番簡単な方法は、幻想の世界に生きる事でしょうか。意外と容易い気がしますね。日常から幻想小説を楽しんでいる方には。	The easiest way to feel romance in your everyday life is to live in a fantasy world. And that is surprisingly easy to do. Just read a fantasy novel.
