The Evil Eye (イビルアイ Ibiruai) are stage enemies in the PC-98 era, only appearing in Story of Eastern Wonderland and lotus Land Story. Nothing much is really known about this enemy.

Background Information

The Evil Eye is a green spherical shaped body with wings and an red eye. In stage 3 of Lotus Land Story, there were red ones and had four legs. In later stages the wings are gone, but something that resembles a fan is underneath the body. The term Evil Eye (イビルアイ Ibiruai) is unofficial and is a rather popular fan name to refer to this enemy in both the Western and Eastern fanbase. It seems to have derived from Evil Eye Σ (イビルアイ∑ Ibiruai Sigma), in which they both resemble each other.

Evil Eye's Appearances

PC-98

The Evil Eye were a generic enemy in the PC-98 games' Story of Eastern Wonderland and Lotus Land Story. They weren't as common in the former as they were in the latter. On stage 2 of the latter, they appeared with some crows, where they slowly moved towards the player while pausing. If playing on Lunatic, they'll shoot bullets as return fire if defeated. They return on the Extra stage, being more vigorous with their danmaku.

The Evil Eye is next to the mysterious girl

In LLS, they're usually kept together in groups and are shown shooting danmaku, similar in gameplay to other stage enemies compared to their previous counterparts.

A sketch of the Evil Eye can be seen on the image top020729.jpg. It is seen behind the mysterious girl on the top right.

Additional Information

  • They are the first in the whole series to use a different colored bullet.
    • They used a red colored bullet instead of a white one, which would mean they are also the first to use red colored bullets.
