Name and Concept

The inspiration of Dream Palace Great Mausoleum is the Hall of Dreams (Yume-dono, 夢殿) of Houryuu-ji. It stands in a half area of the temple, Touin (Eastern Yard, 東院), and the other area is Sai'in (Western Yard, 西院). In the Hall of Dreams, there is Guze Kannon, which is said to have copied the height of Prince Shoutoku. Concerning Touhou's relation, this icon links to Miko.
The Hall of Dreams stands on the ruins of Shoutoku's Palace. More precise explanation: Touin had not been yet when Sai'in was built. Umako's grandson Soga no Iruka killed Shoutoku's son, Prince Yamahiro After a while, Iruka was assasinated, then the clan got by far weaker, and dissapeared after a little time. But Shoutoku's lineage had got downfall.
