- ↑ Kawarake throwing: the practice of throwing unglazed earthware plates from a high place to ward off evil.
- ↑ Rotary throw: an aikido technique where the thrower sweeps the receiver's arm back until the shoulder joint locks, then pushes forward to throw them.
- ↑ In Feng Shui, there is a concept "竜管貴賤" (The dragon monitors royalty and poverty), where landforms such as mountain ridges can be classified as a "Royal Dragon" (貴竜) or a "Poverty Dragon" (賤竜). A Royal Dragon landform gives prosperity to the people living in it.
