Notes

  1. 苦輪: A phrase referring to the cycle of pain that reincarnating beings are trapped in.
  2. One of Youmu's spell cards from PCB.
  3. 迷津慈航 ("departing from hesitation"): the name of the boat that ferries souls to Higan from the world of the unenlightened.
  4. 幽明: A phrase referring to the world of the living and the world of the dead.
  5. "Gumonji" (求聞持) is to be able to definitely not forget something seen or heard once, said to be able to acquire infinite wisdom. The founder of Shingon Buddhism, Kobo-Daishi, comprehended this at the age of 19 and gained an enlightenment. The name of Hieda no Akyuu's ability of not forgetting is also called "Gumonji."
