Notes

  1. Hari is one of the names for Vishnu.
  2. A reference to Kashima Shrine and its keystone, placed there in legend by the god Takemikazuchi.
  3. A kanji pun on "吸血鬼" (kyuuketsu-ki, 'vampire') and "鬼ごっこ" (oni-gokko, 'tag'). The pun itself doesn't render well in English. The title is spelled almost all in hiragana, so it looks very childish.
  4. A "捕物帖" (torimonocho, literally meaning "arrest book") is an Edo-period term now used for period detective stories.
