fukaki aka watari ike sanzu no michi chikaku tooi saki ni wa machiwabita chi no kishi ka owari no nai kawa no soko ka |
A deep red retour, the Sanzu’s course. Close by, far beyond, will be either The long-awaited land’s shore, Or the endless depths of the river. |
hashi wo wataru shigan no yokihito no odayaka na hikari ga sasu higan no sono |
The gentle light of the good people of this life, Crossing the bridge, shines at the other side’s garden. |
kono te wo tsukamu sono tamashii wo kimagure demo sugu ni tsurette yaru yo kono fune de |
That soul, holding on to my hand. Immediately, if just on a whim, I will lead its way, with this boat. |
kuroi kage kurayami no oku ni tachi machiukeshi wa jigoku no mon |
Black shadows rise deep in the darkness. As expected, they are the gates of Hell. |
tsumi no hito wo sabakashi enmasama sono kokoro ni shitagaishi wa waga shimei |
It is my mission to act on the intent of the Yama, Who passes judgement on the humans of sin. |
osoreru mono ni ima misetsukeru jouhari no kagami ni utsushita tsumi no omosagoto kizande |
To those in fear, I now show off The weight of their sins From the crystal mirror’s reflection. |
kono chi ni ori yume wo idaku nara asu wo misue toki wo mitase yo |
Descending from this earth, embracing dreams, Spend your moments gazing at the future. |
mayoiyuku sono tamashii wo ki no muku mama tsurete miokutte yaru yo kono fune wo watashite |
That soul, losing its way. I will take it with me on a whim And see it off, ferrying this boat. |

Shigan and Higan are shores of the Sanzu river, the one of ‘this life’ and the other side. Komachi ferries souls from one side to the other. | ||
