If no one comments for a week, I'll move this as a main page and start creating redirects. Also thinking on doing a samey thing with generic enemies lol :)

This Evil Eye (イビルアイ Ibiruai) was a stage enemy in the PC-98 era. Nothing much is really known about this enemy exept that an Evil Eye can be seen on the image top020729.jpg. It is seen behind the mysterious girl on the top right.

Concept

Name

"Evil Eye" is a rather popular fan name to refer to this enemy, even in the Japanese community. It seems to have derived from イビルアイ∑ (Evil Eye Sigma).

The Evil Eye is a green spherical shaped body with wings and an red eye. In stage 3 of Lotus Land Story, it was red and had four legs. In later stages the wings are gone, but something that resembles a fan is underneath the body.

    • They used a red colored bullet instead of a white one, which would mean they are also the first to use red colored bullets.
Fanon
  • Some fans tend to see the Evil Eye Sigma as the "king" of all the Evil Eyes.

Giant Toad

大蝦蟇
Giant Toad
Giant Toad
The Giant Toad behind Cirno in Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red.
Species

Toad

Location

Giant Toad's Pond

Appearances
Print Works

The Giant Toad (大蝦蟇 Dai Gama) is a toad that lives in the Giant Toad's Pond. Considering the divine nature of the pond, it is likely that the frog acts as its guardian. Unless provoked, the Giant Toad will remain benevolent and gentle. Providing it with an offering will ensure the human visitor a safe trip home. On the walk home, a seemingly ordinary toad will follow you down to the base of the Youkai Mountain. This toad is actually a subordinate of the Giant Toad, and is a sign of its approval. No youkai would dare to attack a human being followed by the Giant Toads's watchful eyes.

In Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red, as usual, Cirno was freezing frogs. This toad decided to punish her by eating her, but Cirno escapes by freezing the toad's stomach, making it spit her out. Neither had any major injuries.

Concept

Name

This character has always been referred to as "Giant Toad" in canon, but that doesn't mean it's the toad's actual name.

Appearance

The Giant Toad looks like a typical toad that is the size of two humans.

Occupation

Location

Marisa's house in the Forest of Magic(?)

Appearances

This Tsuchinoko (槌の子) is a snake look-alike creature that is owned as a pet by Marisa. It was referred to as a "he" by Marisa, therefore it's a male. In Strange and Bright Nature Deity, the Three Fairies of Light found their home covered with vines. They were unable to get into their home, so they got Marisa to help. They believed it was a "Vine Youkai". When Luna Child created some food for the group, the "Vine Youkai" quickly ate the food, and they realised it was actually a Tsuchinoko and Marisa decided to take him home as a pet.

Reimu recommended Marisa to exterminate him, but she refused. To add to this, because he sleeps a lot, eats a lot, snores, and with the lack of food supply Marisa has for him, it's unknown if she did exterminate him or if she still owns him as a pet.

Concept

Name

This character has always been referred to as "Tsuchinoko" in canon, but it doesn't mean it's this creature's real name.

The cure for the Raijuu's poison is revealed to be corn, which helps Reimu and Marisa recover very quickly.

It looks like a ferret-like animal. It has a noticeable stripe on it's back with darker and longer fur that stretches from the forehead to the tip of the tail. The darker portions of it's fur is blue, while the rest of the body is white. It also has red eyes.
