Mrs. Estacion (Mrs. エスタシオン) is a vertical danmaku shooter made by 楓実クルト. It's not specifically a Touhou Project fangame, but many of the bullet patterns and spell cards are references to those found in various Touhou Project games. In addition, the soundtrack is in a style ZUN would use in the official Touhou games.

Gameplay

Mrs. Estacion features a single playable character to choose from, with three shottypes.

The scoring system is based on that of Subterranean Animism, with items being automatically collected by means of grazing. Also, bullets award graze points indefinitely, similar to Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, though awarding far more graze than said game.

Story

Music

Mrs. Estacion contains music that imitates ZUN's style. Composed by Misora, the themes in the game were not composed specifically for it; they were part of a free-to-use library.

Controversy

The game faced backlash shortly after its release.[1][2] People felt some of the bullet patterns and shottypes in the game were blatantly stolen from those of the mainline Touhou Project games. Furthermore, the game was not free; it was being sold online. Despite its obvious heavy inspiration from Touhou, the game's status as a derivative work was not made clear, which was additionally cited as a problem.

The combined effect of these factors is that the game was criticized for ripping off Touhou.[2] On July 21, 2010, the game was delisted from DLsite, and the developer's website was taken down.[1]
