Terms
Throughout the game, various terms appear frequently. It's a bit troublesome to explain every term in each scenario, so they're here. One should be familiarized with these terms before reading any scripts. The scenario translations are currently inconsistent in usage of terms (whether the translated or original Japanese should be used). Eventually, this will all be sorted out.

閻魔(えんま) |
The Japanese equivalent of the Hindu Yama |
彼岸(ひがん) |
The equinoctial period, or the equinox itself. |
彼岸花(ひがんばな) |
Spider lily. Poisonous flower. Blooms during the autumn equinox. |
彼岸桜(ひがんざくら) |
Cherry trees which flower early, around the spring equinox. |
無縁の塚(むえんのつか) |
Literally meaning something similar to "Mound of the Nameless". |
三途の川(さんずのかわ) |
A Japanese Buddhist river similar to the Greek River Styx. |
鈴蘭(すずらん) |
Lily of the valley. A slightly poisonous flower. |
