Scientists (科学者, Kagaku-sha) are people who study the natural/physiological world as a profession. Magicians follow similar methods to scientists and are said to be more or less identical, save for drawing from different bodies of knowledge.
Types of Scientists
Amateur scientists
Amateur scientists which can refer either to the ones that study science without having it registered as an official occupation or a novice scientists who either lacks knowledge or has just begun to learn science; this can lead to dire consequences and after effects for their actions if they are not fully understood or experimented without being fully aware of the risks.
Scientists in Touhou
In the Touhou Project, it is rare to find a scientist in Gensokyo while the few amateur scientists have caused major problems. As said above, there has also been consequences in Subterranean Animism and after effects in Wild and Horned Hermit.
