舞台が地底になるから、最初のステージで洞窟に入っていくイメージでした。洞窟に入ると行動範囲は狭まるので、プレイヤーの主観的にはスピード感が出るように見せられたらと思って、いつもより激しい展開が待っています。蜘蛛をどうやって表現するかを考えたときに、逆さで上からつられてくるということを考えて、じゃあまずは「つるべ落とし」を出そうと思って、キスメが中ボスなんです。 |
The setting was the underworld, so the first stage has a cavern feeling to it. There's less space to maneuver, so I tried to lower the player's subjective sense of speed and there are more dangers than usual awaiting them. When thinking how best to portray a spider, I was considering having her hang upside-down from above when I thought "Why not just have a tsurube-otoshi then?" So I made Kisume the midboss. |

入り口は狭いけど中は広いって定番じゃないですか。そういうのがワクワクしますよね。見た目はどこを飛んでるのかわかりにくい感じだけど。イメージとしては地上と地底のちょうど中間あたり、地底に行くことを外国旅行に例えると、移動で飛行機に乗っているあたりになりますね。視界は開けているけど、やれることは少ない感じです。 |
The entrance being narrow and then opening up is the standard, Isn't it? Doesn't it just excite you? It's hard to convey that sense of being dropped somewhere unknown though. Image-wise, It's halfway between the surface and the underworld, so If you think of traveling to the underworld as a business trip, It's like being stuck on an airplane. You can see a lot, but you can't really do much. |

「地霊殿」っていうタイトルのゲームで地霊殿に来るわけだから、ゲーム的にはここがスタートラインです。ようやく物語が始まる。スタートが遅いですね(笑)。地獄のイメージからも「地霊殿」っていう言葉のイメージからも離れたゴシック的なイメージで曲と背景を作っています。前の3面が「ザ・江戸」な雰囲気だったので、そこから反対のステージにしたくて。 |
Both the game and the place are called chireiden, so game-wise this is just the starting line. the story finally begins. Such a late start (laugh). I also wanted to convey a sense of "hell" so I diverged from "Palace of Earth Spirits" and made both the music and background gothic. Stage 3 had an Edo atmosphere, so I made this stage the exact opposite. |

地底の奥深くにもぐっていくと、地底なのに明るくて太陽がある、というのは古典的なネタですね。地底にどうやって太陽を作るかを考えて、じゃあ八咫烏が出てきたらいいな、とか。ただの太陽じゃなくて、核融合の方に寄せたほうが面白くなるから、とか。そういうことを考えました。見た目が派手でゲームとして難しいかもしれないけど、インパクトを与えることには成功してる気がします。 |
You arrive in the depths of the earth, only to find it illuminated by a sun. That a classic sort of twist. So I thought about how to make a sun underground, and the idea of Yatagarasu popped up. And then I thought maybe It'd be more interesting if It weren't just any sun, but the power of nuclear fusion. It was that sort of train of thought. As a game, It's hard to make it look flashy enough, but in terms of impact I feel like I suceeded. |

嫌われ者をいろいろボスとして出してきたけど、こういう別の形の嫌われ者もいるよ、という展開です。心を閉ざした者は嫌われる、ということを暗に……ぜんぜん暗じゃなく(笑)出しました。周りから嫌われることを恐れて心を閉ざしてしまうと、閉ざす前よりもかえって嫌われてしまうんじゃないかなって。 |
You've fought plenty of hated people as bosses already, but then there's someone who responded to that in a different way. Someone hated who closed their heart, in a dark... Actually, she's not dark at all (laugh)! I was thinking something like someone who closed their heart out of fear of being hated, but that just makes her even more hated. |
