Guys the new playable character isn't Aya, according to the Japanese commenters at nicovideo her name is himekaidou hatate. She's a royal tengu, meaning that her and aya aren't related in any way ... so we got ourselves a new character.

Except that's false; it says it's Aya right on ZUN's blog. Nereid0 05:18, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Ignore me, for obvious reasons. Nereid0 04:05, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed something about both this and Shoot the Bullet: Most of the boss sprites used in both are resized sprites from the portraits as opposed to original sprites. Is my observation correct in this? --StriderTuna 06:04, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

Meaning of "Spoiler"

Well, I'm frustrated from the chinese speaking forum about explanation of Spoiler, so I want to ask whether the "Spoiler" represent Neta or something else? - KyoriAsh 14:25, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Duh, Spoiler means Spoiler~ XD -Dandan550 17:48, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
The title is Double Spoiler simply because of the two characters. Their newspapers can be referred to as spoilers, and during the Spoiler level itself you play as both Aya and Hatate, against each other. Double Spoiler stage, double newspapers, etc. And of course you have a attribute a bit to the fact that ZUN isn't fluent in English. Simple enough? - Drake Irving 23:24, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
So does it mean this Spoiler instead of Other disambiguation meaning? - KyoriAsh 02:39, March 17, 2010 (UTC)
I would wonder why anyone would think it to be otherwise... - Drake Irving 00:14, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
Sadly really got someone think otherwise, for example "Someone who spoil it", not "to reveal the plot" (not me, but those chinese) — KyoriAsh 01:28, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

ZUN annotates "competitive newspaper" with "spoiler", and "each other's competitive newspaper" with "double spoiler" here. ZUN also acknowledges that "'spoiler' also means netabare" here, and netabare is Japanese for what we call "spoilers". So ZUN obviously had something else in mind when he used the word spoiler. I think it's something like "competitive newspaper". _dk 01:55, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

How to Unlock Hatate

Hey is there a way to unlock Hatate? -Dandan550 17:55, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Beat all scenes in Level Spoiler. 128.175.47.73 21:42, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
Ahahaha. I knew I had to do that. Thanks -Dandan550 22:05, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, you just have to beat all the missions in The Spoiler stage.
