Old discussion 1

Well, I've completed the section with the Player Spellcards. Who wants to tackle the far more daunting task of the Story Mode Spellcards? --ChronoReverse 20:20, 26 Apr 2005 (PDT)

Uhm, I could if need be. I think all I have is all of easys, most of normals, some of hard, and one or two for lunatic. --Regris

Yeah, I got all but the Lunatics, which is the problem. I don't think I'd be able to beat Lunatic with every single character. Some characters like Yuyuko simply have it really bad in Story Mode =( --ChronoReverse 07:39, 27 Apr 2005 (PDT)

Also, hwo did you want to go about this...? Like, list what SC each character does, or list off each path or what? --Regris

I think it'd be easiest to lay it out by character (i.e., Suika's Lunatic Path). There isn't a spellcard practice mode and the cards are so many that it'd be a nightmare to try to match the cards to their numbers.

So maybe we could have a page for each character and a table for each difficulty level? --ChronoReverse 15:21, 27 Apr 2005 (PDT)

If you are doing a page for each character path and a table for each difficulty, you are looking at 25 spell cards times 4 dificulties times 10 character paths... That's 1000 entries!

Instead, it would probably be an easier idea to list each of the Enemy Spell Cards a character can unleash. There are many repetitions in the character paths, most notibly the final boss in 9 out of 10 paths. Suika only has 6 or 7 different types of Enemy Spell Cards she uses...

Also, are there any major changes in the way that Spell Cards behave on different difficulty levels? I'm talking drastic changes in structure, not extra bullets or damage. If not, we can save space and work by grouping the 4 difficulties of a Spell Card with 1 picture/description.

--Leviathean 20:37, 27 Apr 2005 (PDT)

Well, there's 10 characters and each character is considered to have 100 different spellcards according to the Results screen. In the light of that listing each one individually is rather unrealistic.

Looking at my Results screen, there are 25 unique cards per character (i.e., unique names. Different difficulty levels change the nature of the card sometimes but not the name).

Therefore, we should do as Leviathean suggests and group the four difficulties together.

That leaves a grand total of 250 spellcards, which is more manageable.

It'd probably be more useful (and also easier to put together) to have the list of cards still sorted by the character who encounters it. That's the way it's done in the Results screen and furthermore, similar looking cards might not be quite the same (in name and structure). Also, different characters encounter different spellcards when faced against the same opponent so it'd be instructive to show that. --ChronoReverse 21:58, 27 Apr 2005 (PDT)

I guess for the sake of keeping the structure of the "Results" table, which also happens to be the order in which you face the Enemy Spell Cards in story mode, 250 entries (sorted by the character who encounters it) will be acceptable.

As an aside, I can't think of an instance where "similar looking cards might not be quite the same (in name and structure)." Do you have an example? Personally, I don't think this is an issue.

Also, when adding messages to Talk pages, I find it useful if you place a horizontal line at the very beginning of your comment, and make a new paragraph when writing your signiture. It helps make it clear when one comment stops and the other begins.

--Leviathean 22:40, 27 Apr 2005 (PDT)

I'll horizontal your line. Also, the only real notable SC that changes with difficulty off the top of my head is Alice's Artful Sacrifice/Return Inanimateness aaaaand I think one of Patchi's SC's too. I think it's like St. Elmo's Explosion/Pillar.

Oh, and how do you do that date thing? >_> --Regris
