Spirit?

I'm suspecting the current translation "spirit" of Spirit News. This term "念報" (nempou), borrowing the sound from "うらみ念法 (urami nempou) of Fujiko Fujio A's "Matarou ga kuru!!", should be a portmanteau of 念写 (thoughtography, nensha) and 年報 (annual report paper, nempou). If we translate "nensha" as "thoughtography", "nempou" is "thoughtographic report", while Hatate is rather using her ability of downloading data of others — copy & paste. What do you think about my suspicion? --masuo64 Talk 08:13, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Indeed, "spirit" seems to be a bad choice of words here. In fact, "spirit photography" is something that I suspect comes from a Japanese-English dictionary, whereas the better word has always been "thoughtography." "Thoughtographic report" is definitey better.--としあき 08:26, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
General consensus where? --ZEROGRAVITY-A01 13:38, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
^ This. Just because someone suggests it and you think it is good, think twice before you change it by yourself. There is more than just you, Tosiaki. Didn't that spark up a discussion just, like, two weeks ago, because you felt there was the need to change something without general consensus?--HyperGumba 13:44, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Sometimes, though, there is a need to be bold, or otherwise nothing will get done. If it was incorrect, it can be reverted. The most important thing is to discuss its merits. In any case, I guess shall heed your word and request more comment from others next time such a question comes up, and in fact, request for others to make the change rather than always do the changes myself.--としあき 14:03, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
