Okay, so now in the "fandom" section there's a comment about her not actually being a dullahan.  I think it's clear that Zun used multiple monsters as inspiration for her, and that dullahan is a perfectly accurate term for her. (Or at least as much as rokurokubi or nukekubi.)  If someone has proof that she is canonically NOT a dullahan, (that is, if Zun says so) then that's that, but as it is it's misleading and outright wrong to say that she isn't.  I'm removing the comment.Flan27 (talk) 02:46, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Rokuro-kubi or Rokurokubi? Is there any difference between those forms of romanization? Berzul (talk) 23:18, 29 May 2013 (UTC)

A Rokurokubi? What?

This has got to be a mistake. Isn't she a nukekubi? Nukekubi are often times misidentified as rokurokubi. I think we should mention that ZUN misidentified Sekibanki as a rokurokubi. Code Slasher (talk) 20:28, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

From DDC music comments (Double_Dealing_Character/Music): "I don't really know whether rokurokubis are supposed to stretch their neck or send their head flying off." Basically, ZUN himself didn't know, which means we have to provide some really hard evidence to clarify what rokurokubi is. Arknarok (talk) 20:32, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Drat. I thought it was an inside joke on Lafcadio Hearn mentioning that the nukekubi are often mistakenly identified as rokurokubi.TiamatRoar (talk) 21:01, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Basically just mention both and explain the situation, I guess.Flan27 (talk) 22:12, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Isn't she actually a dullahan? This game seems to be going pretty Western, with a mermaid, a dullahan, and a werewolf. Ikarito
She's similar to a dullahan, but unlike a dullahan she isn't searching for her head. Zun uses the term dullahan in-game, too, though, so it's just a case of Zun doing what he pleases as usual. Calling her a rokurokubi, a nukekubi, or a dullahan would all be fine and accurate at this point. Basically, Zun himself doesn't care about the distinctions, so they're canonically the same thing.Flan27 (talk) 03:05, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
I thought dullahans just carried their heads under their arms? (Not searched for them.) Not actually having a long neck (although this may just be ZUN not wanting to show it during the fight), she seems just fine as one. Though yes, he refers to other creatures enough that he's probably just combining them all. Ikarito
Plenty of her danmaku is based on a stretchy neck. ZUN is combining rokurokubi, nukekubi, and dullahans into the same thing --Hylarn (talk) 03:38, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
Come to think of it, you could even say that her midspells are loosely based on that concept.Flan27 (talk) 05:14, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
