Saigyou Ayakashi

Why should this be listed as a character? Background images aren't characters, trees aren't characters, it isn't mentioned in the dialogue or other material, and it's not on Perfect Cherry Blossom/Characters. —Nereid talk 09:46, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't know. I wasn't the one who classified Saigyou Ayakashi as a character. Maybe it is a character because it's known to be a Youkai, but really, I don't know, I just added it here because of it's classification of a character. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 11:24, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
Since it isn't mentioned in any material in the game, I'm going to go ahead and remove it. Also related, since I don't believe it ought to be a character at all: Talk:Saigyou Ayakashi#Character page?Nereid talk 10:43, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
The closest thing that exists in this game to the tree is Yuyuko's spell card background. - Kiefmaster99 05:01, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Playable Characters' Title Trivia

I wonder. Since there's trivias/fun facts for individual characters, I wonder if it's alright to have (at least) one for 10D's playable characters' title as a whole. Just want to indicate that all four characters have the same second kanji, which means "Want/Desire". "So Zun even put the Desires theme into the character titles. Clever~"

Taken from an MotK post.

...I think it's informal since it's going to deviate from how "List of Characters" pages are formatted, but... Eh, just a silly thought of including a trivia/fun fact or something. --Lloyd Dunamis 03:49, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

I think that fits better somewhere in the main article. -Master Bigode 04:06, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

彷徨わない亡霊

I noticed that some of the titles were updated, and the new translations seem like they better reflect the original Japanese for the most part. However, I feel like 'Stationary Ghost' was a better translation of Yuyuko's title (彷徨わない亡霊) than 'Ghost who is not swayed'. 'Ghost who is not swayed' implies that the verb 彷徨わない is something that is done to Yuyuko by someone else. However, this is not the case. 彷徨わない is something that Yuyuko herself is (not) doing. She is 'not going astray'. In other words, she is 'stationary.'Biggest Dreamer (talk) 10:44, 31 July 2018 (UTC)

I pulled that text out of the thpatch wiki translation, but I believe the translation itself was done by User:Splashman. It's probably worth agreeing on the same text in both places. -- Mazian (talk) 18:11, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
I didn't translate that, I only copypasted the translated characters_setting_and_extra_story.txt to thpatch from somewhere else. The sprite itself for example says "Stationary ghost", and there's probably a lot more inconsistent titles floating around because nobody can tell how to properly translate 彷徨わない.--Splashman (blub) (talk) 00:24, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
Convincing! -- Mazian (talk) 04:21, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

Why the entire profiles?

What's the point of that? The translated profiles are already in each character's page. Putting them here doesn't add anything other than creating a huge, horrible wall of text. Plus i don't think we did the same for any of the other games. PK (talk) 18:31, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

To have them on one page. And honestly, I think they make sense to be here. ☢ Quwanti 19:38, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
It was my idea to add them to the game's character lists, because in the context of the game it is better to have the character profiles readable on one page, just like in the omake.txt files (but with better formatting). Not everyone wants to dig through official profiles that can only be found on the bottom of individual character pages, collapsed, and appear as if they're not really important.
For example, you're reading Kogasa's th13 profile and want to know who the undefeatable youkai was. On the Ten Desires/Characters page you only have to scroll down and keep reading. If you're reading it on Kogasa's page, you have to remember beforehand that Yoshika is next, open her page in a new tab and keep reading it there, which is, frankly said, annoying.
But if you believe the walls of text on the page are too long, we could put them into collapsible "spoiler" containers.--Splashman (blub) (talk) 00:19, 11 August 2018 (UTC)
It's not on other games because I was starting with one as a test case, and TD happened to be the one that came up in conversation.
I don't think it's too wall-ish, and it seems like anything's better than a long blank page with just a list of characters and nothing else. I don't have a great idea of what to do with the player character section, though. The existing quotes, from the character select screen, are interesting and I don't think they're anywhere else. I wouldn't want to eliminate them just to bring in the rest of character.txt and I haven't thought of a good way to use both. -- Mazian (talk) 04:25, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
