Spirits and Trance Mode

So this is how I understand it: Spirits, in addition to increasing the amount of lives and bombs you have, and increasing the value of point items, als increase your trance meter. This is confirmed by the manual. Once a symbol on the trance meter has been filled, upon death, the player goes into a prolonged state of invincibility and "nuke everything to makai" (also confirmed by the manual), which drains all of the meter. This period can be extended by collecting further spirits (which for some reason look differently. Does it also change something gameplay wise?). Then you die and it's business as usual. Power and point items are unaffected by trance mode, but what about Life and Bomb spirits and stuff? --Wymar 10:40, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Quick question. Are the descriptions for characters official translation? --Anomaly 04:30, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

They are translations of their titles in the character select screen. Master Bigode 04:45, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Deathbombing?

Deathbombing seems to be entirely possible, perhaps it was just this way in the demo? Sheadog369 06:42, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Extra bug

Has anyone found out what causes the bug that crashes the game after Mamizou's survival spell card? I believe this should be added to the bugs section, even if people haven't found out how exactly it happens yet. --Zurren 07:37, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, it was probably fixed with the 1.00c update. --Zurren 21:42, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Replay-Destroying Update

I just updated my game to 1.00c and now all of my replays are ruined! shiku shiku! Damn you Zun!

Continues

Does anyone know exactly what determines how many continues you get? I remember the game allowing me to continue 6 times at some point after playing the game for a while (it was my first attempt at Hard, after a few Easy and Normal 1ccs and an Extra clear). Now it allows me to continue 9 times. So I'd guess something causes it to increase, similar to the 6 and 7 starting lives options in Touhou 8, but what? - KarisaMirisame 05:40, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

It varies depending on difficulty. Easy and Normal is 3, Hard is 6, Lunatic is 9. Arcorann 09:09, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
