The project is not yet feature complete, however the goal is to have a dual Ph3 and 0.12m backwards-compatible STG Engine that that faithfully play all scripts from the two predecessor engines.  Additionally the project aims to address certain performance issues that were present in the originals (curved lasers etc.) while also adding UTF-8 support and removing the requirement to change locales.

Danmakufu Remake (also Danmakufu EX) is a clone of the popular STG maker program Danmakufu which leans toward making Touhou Project-style games with a C-like programming language.

As of October 2018 there are about 300 ph3 commands implemented in the engine (35 of which are common to 0.12m)

Gameplay

As this is a replica of the original Touhou Danmakufu please refer to the original's Gameplay section.

Edit Scripts

As this is a replica of the original Touhou Danmakufu please refer to the original's Edit scripts section

Notable differences are that scripts are UTF-8 and ASCII text files with the .dnh extension. For editing scripts, any plain text editor will work, but some text editors support syntax highlighting via extensions/plugins:
