Touhou Juuouen(Beast King Garden) ~ Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost (東方獣王園　〜 Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost) is the nineteenth official installment of the Touhou Project. The game was released on August 13, 2023 at Comiket 102.

Gameplay

Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost is a split-screen vertical-scrolling danmaku shooting game where two characters must shoot and dodge bullet patterns while unleashing attacks and character-specific spell cards onto the other player. Similar gameplay is present in the earlier entries, Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View.

Concept

Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost was designed to be a sequel to Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View in terms of gameplay, alongside Twinkle Star Sprites. Twinkle Star Sprites' gameplay, containing two players simultaneously engaging in shooter gameplay while attacking to their opponent was the main inspiration for Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream's gameplay.

Story

Following the opening of the markets, Gensokyo's land has abruptly lost its ownership and an invasion from Hell's Animal Realm has begun. The game's cast all seek to either bring the invasion to a halt or take advantage of the ongoing situation.

Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost was first announced at Touhou Yomoyama News on April 14, 2023, along with information about the story and gameplay, including development screenshots that revealed the 5 characters that would be playable in the demo. The trial CD was released on May 7th, 2023 at Reitaisai 20.

On August 11th, 2023, a notice about the game was put out on Touhou Yomoyama News, detailing that its price was increased to 1500 yen from 1400 due to the current market prices, and that DirectX will not be included with it in the disk due to the total size of the game being bigger than usual.

The full game released on August 13th, 2023 at Comiket 102, with its release on Steam happening on the same day 8 hours after.
