豚乙女「少女煉獄」

Hey there, it looks like we're edit-conflicting each other (I just submitted a lyricsheet for the first track, 面隠し, about a minute after you did.) Are you planning on doing other tracks from this album? Shearscape (talk) 02:38, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Oh, hi! Sorry about that, if I'm messing you up or anything. I was planning on it, but didn't have any concrete plan or order I was thinking of working in. If we're both doing lyrics work on the album, how about we split the track list and each transcribe our respective songs? Could make it faster, methinks. (Yay, Buta-Otome!) La bruja pícaro (talk)
That sounds great! I just uploaded the last track on the album, and I am about 70% done with the penultimate track. I'll take the back four, and you can take the front four -- does that sound okay? (Yay, another Buta-otome fan!) Shearscape (talk) 03:16, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Excellent! Let's do that, then. *claps* La bruja pícaro (talk)
Nice work! By the way, I noticed your comment on the first track, about a missing て or similar. There were a few typos here and there in the later tracks, too, but I chose not to add anything about those (seemed minor enough). I'll probably take on ビリヤード at some point this week. Shearscape (talk) 06:02, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, they are pretty minor. I'll probably not be doing anything for ビリヤード, but I'll be going through Buta-Otome's older releases and making sure they're all fixed up. It looks like 鉱石ラジヲ has kanji but no romaji, so I'll be moving onto that next, if scans for ビョウ or any other of my C84 priorities don't crop up at any point before then. I admit, I haven't been on the Wiki much as of late, but it's great to see another transcriber bouncing around, especially for Buta-Otome! La bruja pícaro (talk)
Yeah, 鉱石ラジヲ could use a little love. 8 is in the same situation for some tracks -- I already transcribed the ones I liked, but there's a few others that require both title translations and transcriptions. (If you needed more work!) I'll probably do some of the tracks on 8 later tonight since the kanji is already there. Shearscape (talk) 00:34, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Also, not sure if you knew / if you already found them, but scans for ビョウ exist; they're linked from the spreadsheet. Shearscape (talk) 00:35, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Yup! I transcribed the first two tracks already (although the first gave me a headache) and I'm on to romanizing them now. 8 sounds great! I'm surprised at the lack of love it got, but then again, it's a bit of a different album for Buta-Otome. La bruja pícaro (talk) 00:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

『アッパッパー人』

Hey, just a heads-up that I made a comment on the talk page for アッパッパー人, in case you missed it; it has to do with the transcription for the track title. Shearscape (talk) 01:34, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

異端審問

Hey, I wanted to ask about the track translation for the first track on this album, 「罪と罰」. At least in my experience it's usually translated "Crime and Punishment" as a reference to the Dostoyevsky work of the same name -- see, for example, the Japanese wiki article here, and the Shiina Ringo song of the same name here. Would you mind if I changed it to that? Wanted to make sure if it was okay with you.

Thanks, Shearscape (talk) 22:52, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey! Thanks for commenting, but it's pretty evident that I was not paying attention or something when I went over the entire album (how did I read しんもん as じもん, for one?). Any way you can help the articles I edit to be more accurate will make the Wiki all the better! I'll go ahead and change that song title to be nice and accurate, but in the future, feel free to jump at any errors or discrepancies you see in the stuff I edit or translate. Thanks for your hard work! La bruja pícaro (talk) 23:31, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the update, and no worries -- I'm happy to help where I can. I'd been a bit behind on Buta-otome releases, but I managed to get my hands on 異端審問, so I typed out the lyricpage for MiChi earlier today and I'll probably get a few more before heading to bed tonight. And thanks for your hard work! Shearscape (talk) 05:05, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

ひかり and NAIMAZE

Hey, sorry to keep spamming up your user-talk. I saw your changes to ひかり and I think your new track title translations are better. (You're correct about ~がいい, by the way -- I usually see it used as an assertion that something is for the best).

Do you translate songs? I've been meaning to translate NAIMAZE for a while and have some of the stanzas knocking around in my head, but I don't feel very confident / sure of myself for a lot of them. I was wondering if you were interested in helping out if you could. Thanks, Shearscape (talk) 04:59, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Hey there! I do and I don't translate songs. I can be a bit rusty in Japanese since I learn a little bit of everything while focusing on nothing in particular; sometimes I'm ill-equipped to handle strange, phantasmagoric songs like most remixes of Yuyuko's theme, but it's not as though I never understand any more than the occasional "kawaii" or "desu". I'd be glad to help either way since consistency is great and all. La bruja pícaro (talk) 07:39, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
Sounds great, and yeah, it's definitely pretty phantasmagoric in parts. (Lovely song, though.) I just could use a second opinion, I guess, especially for phrasing. Is there a preferred way to contact you? Shearscape (talk) 08:04, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
I took a look at the lyrics and I wouldn't call it phantasmagoric. It's very lyrical and has some very bright metaphors, though. The bigger challenge (as always) is going to be converting them to appropriate English expressions. Arknarok (talk) 20:06, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
That's the fun part. Let's see... I can hop on IRC when you're available. I also have a Skype and Google Hangout account, but I think that IRC would probably be more convenient overall. La bruja pícaro (talk) 20:30, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm sitting in #touhouwiki at the moment. Shearscape (talk) 20:37, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

君の大事、私の好き

Hey again Bruja, decided to take another look at 君の大事、私の好き after I brought it up earlier in the conversation over NAIMAZE. I already went through it and fixed a bunch of errors (mostly having to do with translating tense wrong) -- you can see the edit history for that. If you could, could you give it a once-over and let me know what you think?

I was having a lot of difficulty with the last stanza, both when I translated it originally and when I went over it again just now. I realize the very last line uses だったんだ rather than なんだ -- does "Well, that was very simple" make sense to you there? There's probably something else I'm missing, too.

Thanks as always, Shearscape (talk) 23:43, 28 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you too!

And I also have to thank you for translating Buta-Otome songs! ☢ Quwanti 00:08, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
