This extension requires extensive time to install. Placing it on notice, but deferring for now. Chloe 16:09, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Case Sensitive Site Search

I've realized that the search on this site is somewhat case sensitive, whereas the search on Wikipedia is not. I'm not talking about case-sensitive articles; I mean that typing "united states census bureau" on Wikipedia will still bring you to "United States Census Bureau" while typing "labyrinth of touhou" on touhouwiki will not bring you to "Labyrinth of Touhou." Actually, upon testing, it seems that non-case sensitive search sometimes works up to 3 words (perfect cherry blossom) but not usually for 4 words and above (phantasmagoria of flower view). Note: in both cases suggested articles stop popping up once you don't follow the article's exact capitalization. Is there any way to standardize non-case sensitive search across the board? The search engine is not case sensitive. The results you are noticing are most likely due to a number of factors. One, "of" is not counted in the search since the minimum character length set for search terms is 3. Two, "phantasmagoria" and "flower" are both rather common terms in this site so it comes up with multiple results. Three, the built-in search engine is not the best, but it is functional enough to continue utilizing for now. Lastly, the wiki was recreated with incomplete database dumps which caused some minor issues with the search index (MaronaPossessed found that searching for "fate of blood" on Wikia came up with the correct page, but not here... however, it was the only page that displayed this behavior). I'm afraid there is not much I can do to "standardize" searches in the manner you are requesting. Please refer here for more details. Chloe 16:07, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, about fate of blood, it seems that the wiki is indexing japanese characters incorrectly. Search for "東方染紅歌~Fate" or "Blood~" and you will see what I mean. Master Bigode 16:43, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
I am aware of what is happening. =) It was the only page with Japanese characters I found that exhibited this behavior. Chloe 17:10, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Ah, whoops, let me clarify a little. I haven't really played around with the actual search - I was talking about the autocompletion in the search bar. I meant that on Wikipedia, for instance, you can type "severe tropical cyclone ya" and "Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi" will appear in the dropdown. Here, however, you can type "sengoku gen" and nothing shows up - you have to type "sengoku Gen" to get Sengoku Gensokyo and all its derivatives to show in the drop-down. "sengoku gensokyo" will still get you to the article just fine, but you have to know the full article name and type it all out. Pufferfish101 18:42, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Setting up the Swedish wiki

Yeah, I think it's time to get it started. So sv.touhouwiki.net, please. KennyMan666 20:06, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
