Moonlight feels right

Hey, I saw your question in Recent changes -- "asete" makes sense to me here, 色褪せてゆく感覚 iroaseteyuku kankaku being something like "fading perception." I'll listen through it and check if you'd like. Shearscape (talk) 13:32, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Thank you :) If it's wrong, I'll correct this, but I think your explanation makes sense. I've searched about it a bit and I found this: Lyrics:_Against,_Perfect_Cherry_Blossom. In kan2 and rom2 it says iro-asete, so this could really be right :) Mai88 10:30, 17 August 2012 (CEST)

I'd like to note that your reference is... well, to be honest, I do not consider it an error. I've seen lyrics that omit う in ように many times. I personally consider it just an intentional quirk now, not an error. Arknarok (talk) 15:54, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Ok, I didn't really know it, I was wondering why in kan09 the scans were with う and then it was missing in kan10. To make it alike I put う in kan10, but I didn't know whether it was a misprint or not... Thank you for checking it up, I think I'll delete my references. Mai88 10:40, 17 August 2012 (CEST)

The album jacket image issue

Contact an administrator and ask them to delete all of the images you have problem with. After that re-upload the images, but in en.--Doncot (talk) 12:31, 31 August 2012 (EDT)

Ok, I will. I don't know whether it's a general problem or a problem with the files. Mai88 18:35, 31 August 2012 (CEST)
I have come across it too, so it's not a problem of your files. When I asked for help, he told me never to upload images via pool (talk page).--Doncot (talk) 12:39, 31 August 2012 (EDT)
Wow, I'm wondering why the link in Upload File is to the pool... And this talk page should be in a more important section where every newbie (me too) can read this. Thanks for pointing it out :) Mai88 18:59, 31 August 2012 (CEST)

The romaji for "を"

Although both "o" or "wo" can be the romaji transcription for "を", only "o" is considered "correct" in both Hepburn and kunrei-shiki ("wo" is permissible). Reading を as "wo" is an obsolete use. Normally, people don't pronounce like that in today's Japanese. The lyrics' romaji are there for reading convenience, so I feel it's better for the viewers to have the romaji written as how they're "pronounced". (BTW, by following this rule, てゐ and ひななゐ should be written as "Tei" and "Hinanai" [in the romaji section], but nobody seems to practice it. Hmmm....)--Doncot (talk) 14:02, 26 October 2012 (EDT)

I always use "wo", because I'm used to doing that. I'm okay with others using "o". Arknarok (talk) 17:21, 26 October 2012 (EDT)
Yes, thanks for explaining the difference between "o" and "wo" to me. I already had a prescience that you can use both and none of them is "wrong" and I agree with you, that it would be better to use the romaji which is pronounced. But as you have said, it's not false if you only use "wo" or "o". I think it's also the same with は: "ha"/"wa" and へ: "he/e", isn't it? Mai88 13:02, 27 October 2012 (CEST)
For は and へ, it's a different story: It's actually read differently according to the usage. So no, you need to write them as how they are pronounced.--Doncot (talk) 07:22, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
Uhm, ok. So I was wrong, sorry^^. But I had always use "e" and "wa" for those if they are particles. Mai88 13:24, 27 October 2012 (CEST)
Well, that's actually the correct usage that I'm talking about: Use "e", "wa" for the particles and "he", "ha" for all other cases.--Doncot (talk) 07:29, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
Um, maybe you are having a misunderstanding here: へ and は are pronounced differently according to their usage and written in romaji as how are they are pronounced - while を is always pronounced as "o", but being okay to be written both "o/wo" in romaji (yeah, I know it's a bit confusing. It's the first trial that the grade students need to face in their Japanese class. And Like I said above, pronouncing を as "wo" is an obsolete reading, but still keeping its relic when writing. It was pronounced as "wo" in like what... a thousand year ago or something like that).--Doncot (talk) 07:50, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
Jup, ok, I'll keep that in mind, and thanks again for making things clear ;) Mai88 13:58, 27 October 2012 (CEST)

Thanks for your work on the music section

Just felt like saying thanks, saw you've been adding a lot of pages for arrangement CDs and such - this helps me tons with my radio show and other things. Keep it up!OverCoat (talk) 09:09, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Ah^^ not a big deal :) and thanks for your thanks :D I'm glad that someone appreciates my work, another reason for working harder ;) Mai88 15:39, 05 April 2013 (CEST)

My bad

Sorry, really new to all this, so...yeah. Thanks for correcting my mistakes, I really have no foundation in japanese, so transcrption will not be very accurate. I'll try to learn from your comments but I've gotta wait till the weekends cause I'm in camp right now. Horrible trying to type this all from my phone haha. Arkazu (talk) 14:14, 3 June 2013 (UTC)f

Nothing to be sorry about, I know that you're new with this all (I was confused, too, when I first began here). I just wanted to help you like I was helped by other nice people^^ If you've got any questions, just ask me :) and just take your time since you're busy at the moment. Regarding 大地に咲く旋律...

Hey Mai,

I was reading over the lyricsheet for 大地に咲く旋律 and noticed the first line:

「『好き』 と言える 語り含える...」

I don't know if you still have the booklet for 濡れた髪に触れられた時, but if you do, can you check if that bolded part is correct? It's most definitely sung aeru (and is given as such in the romaji), but that would be written 合える (which fits the context). I have a feeling it was just a typo, but I'd rather be certain.

And of course, thanks for all your help with the Yuuhei Satellite articles!

Best, Samidare (talk) 22:43, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

First of all, sorry for the late response! And yeah, I looked up again and it is a typo, sorry for that. So you're right, it's not 含える but 合える, thank you for pointing it out.
And thank you very much! I also appreciate your good work, just keep it up :) Mai88 14:58, 25 December 2013 (CET)

Translation for 「感傷の摩天楼」 by Halozy

Hey there Mai,

I came across 「感傷の摩天楼」 by Halozy while playing some osu!, and was happy to see that there was a page for it here. There are some parts of the translation that I think could be improved on; would you mind talking about it sometime? I know translations can be a sensitive subject so I always want to check in first before I change anything.

Thanks! Best, Samidare (talk) 06:09, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
