Seiyuu Data from various games

I've come across voice acting data for some of the doujin games based on Touhou. Would you like that included?--Zhane Masaki (talk) 02:36, 4 October 2012 (EDT)

how do you make a new page in touhou wiki?

Hi. I'm new to touhou wiki and i have no idea what I'm doing... (_ _|||) I want to write a fanfic but i have no idea how ^__^" Can you please explain about how to create pages and other things i should know? Domo arigato :3

Wikipedia has a very nice page page explaining how to edit a wiki, you can see it here. You can also experiment in the sandbox. Hope that helps, and good luck! Momiji (talk) 03:10, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia said "In the search box near the top right of a page, type the title of the new article, then click Go. If the Search page reports "You may create the page" followed by the article name in red, then you can click the red article name to start editing the article." but when i tried this in touhou wiki, all that came up was "There were no results matching the query."....can you help me? sorry for noobiness......
You need to make one edit to an article (not a talk page) to become Autoconfirmed, then you can create articles. Momiji (talk) 20:00, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks!!!

Website was not working

Hello. (Should I be posting here?)

Yesterday, when I tried to access this wiki..It redirected me to some Anime Forum. What happened? I even tried opening other pages inside the wiki, like the Language selection page/Alice Margatroid page. And still not working. Well, Now it's working, but I would like to know what happened.

Thank you. ☢☢☢ CAUTION!! ☢☢☢ 10:37, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

It was a temporary glitch in a part of the webserving stack, causing things to round-robin a bit. Momiji 18:12, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Who do I ask in terms of translations?

Hi I'm kind of new to the whole wiki editing community. I'm a native japanese speaker and thought people could use some assitance here. I didn't want to go on a "translation correction spree" without asking some sort of chief translator...if there is one. Is there somekind of translation team here? Anyone in charge? Tren 03:25, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Not really, it's mostly a decentralized operation. Feel free to edit as you see fit. Momiji 03:27, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Just saying that i'm also a native Japanese speaker. There are quite a few mistakes around all the translations but never felt like it cause it's to much work. Someone that can go on a translation correction spree would be nice though. You can try this as a start Scarlet Weather Rhapsody/Translation/Suika's Scenario. That one has alot of mistakes (I didn't cheak any of the other scenarios though). --Hikaruxz 03:42, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Well I'm not sure what you want me to do specifically. The beginning of any sort of work here is someone seeing errors and fixing them. That's how any wiki works, from something small like Touhou Wiki all the way up to Wikipedia. Poor translations and content rewriting/refactoring is probably the major issue we have on the Wiki; it's painful and dull, and requires a skilled writer to do properly, but make a huge difference in the long run quality-wise. If you do see errors, please feel free to fix them! ^.^ Momiji 04:21, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I had a question with these. How accurate do translation usually have to be. Alot of the translations are usally to literal and translate from Japanese to English but not from English back to Japanese. Some compleatly change the whole sentence to something just as similar.--Hikaruxz 04:26, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
The translations should keep to the meaning and spirit of the original text as close as possible. Not overly rigid so it feels like the characters are robots, but make sure the translations maintain the life from the original text. That's about it. Momiji 05:09, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

How do I make a user page where you type in your profile?

This question was probably answered hundred times someplace I haven't found. Sorry to bother. I suppose the page has to be created first? since I don't see the edit tab. Tren 21:31, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Click your name, write something, then click save page. That's it. Master Bigode 22:24, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
When i click on my name (which is in red text since it links to a page with no content), I get nothing but a "There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, or search the related logs". No edit/add topics tabs on the upper right corner. Tren 00:20, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
You may not yet be able to create pages yet, you might need to wait longer until you can create pages because new users can't create pages for 24 hours and they have to do at least 1 edit. Try later on and see... Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 00:29, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Or somebody else can just create it for you. Also, Momiji, I think putting the 24-hour restriction in the Welcoming messages would help a bit, as this is now becoming a frequently-asked question. - Kiefmaster99 00:51, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

IRC

Hi Momiji! ^^

I just like to ask one question, even thought I'm banned from the IRC, am I'm still able to join? I know that I shouldn't have abused Keine-tan and I know that you don't like Keine-tan to be abused and I'm sorry for that. I know my ZUN and coke are useless against your tengu powers (lol), but I feel like I've had my time out.

So that's what I'm asking, can I please have a chance to return to the IRC early? I promise I won't be as much of an idiot as before and will do ANYTHING you and the other ops say.

thanks ^^ (Sorry I posted thid here, thought it's only place thst I know of to contact you.) Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 23:35, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Please don't come back for a week. Thank you. Momiji 04:52, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
OK no worries. sorry. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 11:07, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Maidens of the Kaleidoscope

Hey, I made an account on shrinemaiden.org yesterday, so I'm obviously new. Is it basically just a huge touhou forum or is there other stuff? How does it work? Can you give me any advice so I can get used to it quicker? Any help would be appreciated! (And my account on shrinemaiden.org isn't called ChocolateLily, it's called SATORI_SAMA. to let you know :P) Thanks--ChocolateLily 08:30, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that's basically the gist of it. Just make sure you look through the Forum/IRC Rules and Info, there's some things that will get you banned with extreme prejudice (discussing/linking downloads to official games, etc.). There are some other pretty big subsections to the forums too, like forum roleplay/games and whatnot. All of the actual Touhou stuff is within the "Hakurei Shrine" section, while the more off-topic stuff is within "Beyond the Border". That's about it. Momiji 15:16, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

A rare case

Somehow, GlobalUsage works here, but majority not working, possible due to database problem since shifting to here - KyoriAsh 11:17, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, there'll be an image here or there that'll actually show up properly in GU, but most don't. K and Chloe are still investigating it. Momiji 19:33, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Regarding Global Usage, it seems working IF other wiki USED non-uploaded file link in article (red link), and then upload at certain language, the uploaded file in that language wiki will show up Global Usage, but not other language wiki. A sample I made: File:Th07Reimu.png, I edit across all language wiki, then uploaded in en, thus en show up Global Usage - KyoriAsh 19:43, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Category:Spammers

Hi Momiji. I was wondering if the users and ip's in Category:Spammers are bocked. If not, shouldn'd they since they vandaled the wiki? Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 10:51, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

No, but they're all remnants from Wikia, and they're all at least a year old if not more. You can go through them and mark them for deletion. Momiji 16:58, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Deleting obsolete pages

Hi. I would like to know the instructions of deleting pages. --Rockmari 01:32, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Only admins can delete pages. If you'd like something deleted, add {{delete}} to the top of it and we'll go through it, and if it should be deleted we'll do it. Momiji 23:22, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Relationships

Hey, so I've looked through a few character pages and I noticed that their 'relationships' section structure and layout always seems to be different. If you look at Yukari Yakumo you'll notice that her relationships are written in the Story section with the character's name written in bold. But if you look at Seiga Kaku, it's written in the Concept section and in italic and also in Seiga's infobox. If you go to Shinki's page, it's only in her infobox. Which is the correct one or are they all correct? I thought you might know because you're the admin... i think lol. Thanks! =D Okuu 23:16, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

The long form of the Relationships section on the Yukari page should be preferable, just as long as there's enough information to do it. Only issue is, while here may be huge amounts of information in certain places, there's large gaps in most of the character's backstory, so most of the time you'll end up with pages like Seiga's, if not like Shinki's. I've been hesitant about work done on the Relationship sections, since it's very easy for people to get into heavy speculation just to fill in the gaps and have more than just a cursory section. If there's actual canonical information about that character, it should be written in, otherwise don't fill it up with speculation. Hope that helps. Momiji 23:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

older account

Just realized that I had another user account (Deathsoul60) that I used to use before I found out that I could simply transfer my touhou wikia account into this wiki. Is there a way to either delete that account or merge it onto this account? Just wanted to make sure that the older account is appropriately disposed of before any misunderstanding arises. Deathsoul4 19:08, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

A merger between 2 account is possible, with the plugin available here, depend on which username you would like to prefer - KyoriAsh 20:18, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! But err...... What's the link to the plugin? Deathsoul4 21:57, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Shii

Hi Momiji. I suggest you block Shii right away because of the goatse incident that happend on wikia (see talk here). His contributions on wikia says it all. I can remember seeing this name on the main page of wikia during that time.

Also, both Shii on this wiki and Shii on wikia seems to be the same person. His first seven contributions on both wiki's are the same. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 14:30, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Ah right, I remember this person. Thanks for the heads up. Momiji 02:22, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Seihou Endings

Hi Momiji. Is it OK to have endings related to Seihou on the wiki? It doesn't go against ZUN's policy since he didn't create the series. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 22:07, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

If no such similar policy exists, then I don't see why not.- Kiefmaster99 22:14, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Deleting Account

Hello Momiji I have a question about deleting my account. Is there somewhere on the Touhou webiste a delete button for deleting my account? Thanks Hina 04:38, 2 January 2012 (UTC)Hina

ReCaptcha?

Hey Momiji, it's Namazu from over on TouhouMUCK. We've been getting bombarded with spammer accounts recently, and I'm pretty sure a much more active wiki like this has a harder time noticing them. Any chance we can get a ReCaptcha implemented both on Touhou Wiki and Touhou MUCK Wiki? That'd kind of... completely put a stop to this nonsense. Unnamed Giant Catfish 10:11, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Namazu, I know the situation, not only MUCK been attacked by spammer, but other language of touhouwiki as well. I don't think ReCaptcha can stop the menance as I saw several spammer can skip ReCaptcha to spam - KyoriAsh 14:25, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
At least Captcha could cut down on it, right?Unnamed Giant Catfish 22:28, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
There are some available tools that can skipped ReCaptcha if I remember correctly, but for sure will "reduce a bit" of spamming. - KyoriAsh 01:43, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Re-voicing my request for a Captcha. This is getting out of hand, isn't it? These guys don't even provide anything in exchange for the advertising they get out of it. Unnamed Giant Catfish 01:27, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
I'll second Namazu's request here... Though I'm not an admin but just an ordinary editor of this wiki I think it would be tiresome for the admins to consistently work on blocking the spammers, and this can become a problem if you or Kyori decide to take a long break from work here. Rather than leave the situation as it is now, it would surely be better if we can cut down the number of spammers on the wiki. --This message from DeltaSierra4 was delivered on 04:19, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Groan...
But then that also means we have to input the Captcha ourselves and that would be annoying.
So I'm kinda against that in that regard.
Plus, I'm no programming expert, but I'm sure this'll take time to implement.
And as Kyo said, this may "reduce a bit", as soon as they see us trying to address the problem, then we are inviting them to produce more "underground efforts" (Think the Prohibition era) when lawmakers made that law, did it stop the problem or did it actually make it worse? The answer is what was once a visible problem is now a underground hard-to-find business.
My sympathies for your spam attacks, I'd hate to leave you guys go without a solution, so what you guys should do is make a system which will contain markers (people who request for deletion) and executors (Admins who will do said deleting) and perhaps emissaries (people who will find repeat offenders and request them to stop)
If you are interested, I'll make that system myself.
Another possibility is find someone who is willing to make a bot who will delete any repeat offenders (Think Blacklist).♥★♦ 20:57, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
The thing is, most if not all of the spammers are automated systems. They won't "get smarter" in this way that you're paranoid about. They will just go back to searching for unprotected wikis to generate accounts and spam on. Your fear, that they'll change tactics, requires a human element that spam bots just don't have. All they do is search the internet for unprotected wikis and spam the ones they can get onto. We can handle the ones who get through a captcha system, I'm fairly sure it will be much lower than we're dealing with currently.
What you're suggesting is basically what we're already doing: Manually catching and banning spammers/deleting spam pages. Unnamed Giant Catfish 20:08, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Hmm... fair enough. If what Coyc said is possible, then I'm all for it.♥★♦ 03:08, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

There are two MediaWiki extensions which could help solve problem with spam: mw:Extension:AbuseFilter and mw:Extension:ConfirmEdit (it also supports configuration to skip CAPTCHA for certain user groups). --Coyc 21:11, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Just got swarmed again over at TM's wiki. These jerks work fast. Re-voicing my request for a captcha check on creating an account. It doesn't have to be something you do for every edit. Just for account creation. Since you can't make edits without an account... yeah. Unnamed Giant Catfish 03:17, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
The problem is, the people who responsible for the plugin installation is not Momiji... - KyoriAsh 03:33, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Eh. Momiji is the one who set up our wiki, so I tend to ask them about these things.Unnamed Giant Catfish 09:45, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
@Unnamed Giant Catfish, there are a few that may be willing to help in that department; WGH, Chloe are the first names that come to my mind, hope you can get your issue addressed, as they tend to be busy, but perhaps they may find some time to help you?.Good Luck! ♥★♦ 04:05, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Namazu, I put it in through Chloe, waiting for a response. Momiji 04:12, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Ah, thanks.Unnamed Giant Catfish 09:45, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

In case there is a misunderstanding within Talk:Reimu Hakurei

Since you made a comment about "being civil," I am a bit concerned you might be seeing me as uncivil, so I want to make a comment to clarify things. If I was uncivil, I guess that this is something that should not be repeated in the future, but I do not believe I have been uncivil on Talk:Reimu Hakurei. My comments were purely explaining the reasoning for edits, and furthermore a little explanation that I was not attempting to make any personal comments (when I commented, "It was not talking about you, but rather, about the contents of the edit that you made"). I guess that the atmosphere of that comments section might have provided a bad sense of things, but believe that I have not added anything comment-wise that could have contributed any incivility to it. I searched around my comments, and perhaps my most problematic one was "if this kind of style using paragraphs in larger sections seems unnatural to you..." - if there is any other comment of mine that you would like to criticize, please do point it out, but at least as of now, I am concerned that you might be misconceiving the nature of my comments on Talk:Reimu Hakurei.--Tosiaki 01:21, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Although I do not oppose receiving criticism, it does seem like a big deal for there to be a false conception that I have done anything wrong, which is why it is a big deal for me to clear this up. I also apologize if making a comment on your user talk like this inconveniences you in an way.--Tosiaki 01:33, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

In any case, despite the fact that I do not quite see how I have made an uncivil comment in that discussion, I do acknowledge the possibility that I might simply be overlooking one of my comments on Talk:Reimu Hakurei. As stated previously, if there is any particular comment you would like to criticize as being uncivil, please do point it out, so as to let me be aware of it. One thing I always strive for in the talk page discussions is to always stay on topic and never use an ad hominem attack, so if I lapsed on that, it would be appreciated if you could point it out.--Tosiaki 01:52, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I've been watching the talk page for a while since this morning because there seemed to be a huge amount of discussion going on. From a third person's view I guess people might've thought there might've been an edit war going on due to the amount of discussion and, to some extent, the tone of the discussion (like "you seem to imply my edits are entirely counterproductive" or "It was not talking about you, but rather, about the contents of the edit that you made" for instance). I've noticed that you usually use italicization or bold letters when you want to emphasize a point in your discussions, which is fine, but maybe not many people like that, especially when it has to do with the editor himself/herself, though I don't think that's why Ibaraki may have felt quite offended as his comments suggest, and I feel that it may have been a misunderstanding (it happens sometimes, when we never intend to offend the person in a discussion page and still some misunderstanding arises).
I think it might be better if you use the user talk page if it's about alerting the editor that you've reverted his/her changes for some reasons. Also, you're right that if some edit "purely concerns the contents of the page", then the comment should be made on the article's talk page, but probably it would be a good idea not to include the person's user name on the topic: You know, people would get curious at times and start reading these talk pages and they happen to see a topic named "Regarding DeltaSierra4's edits", then they would think I've vandalized the article in the past. Yes, though Ibaraki didn't vandalize the article, people would still make these kind of random conjectures. I see you pointed out that you'll use the talk page "if [the editor] were to make an edit that was not on good faith", but even then, if you include Ibaraki's name on the topic title, you cannot guarantee that people will assume he made edits on good faith.
I know this seems to be some misunderstanding - you didn't intend to offend Ibaraki when explaining about your edits, but Ibaraki didn't like the idea of your including his name in the topic, and the ensuing discussion may have made Momiji think you two were fighting. In overall, I don't think there was a fight regarding the article's materials, but to some people the part where you two discuss about including Ibaraki's name in the topic may feel like some sort of skirmish between you two. Well, I'm not Momiji, but I wanted to help you guys out clear this misconception. Hope my explanation did. --This message from DeltaSierra4 was delivered on 02:30, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Also, hope you feel better soon Momiji. I don't feel well myself after not sleeping for like 48 hours. --This message from DeltaSierra4 was delivered on 02:30, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Yes, since it rings my phone. Even when I'm asleep. Momiji 05:30, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
You may also want to join the IRC channel, #touhouwiki at irc.ppirc.net. Momiji 05:34, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Understood. I am somewhat hesitant about the IRC, since I have used IRC and other kinds of chat before and it has previously taken a great amount of time that I would otherwise wanted to have spent doing other things, but I might check it out sometime.--Tosiaki 05:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Since it has been more than 2 hours since I have sent you a message, I am just wondering, is the lack of response due to not having checked it yet, or due to not finishing to respond to it yet? Since this is the first time I am sending you a message like this, it would at least be reassuring to have a confirmation that I am using a valid means of contacting you...--Tosiaki 06:55, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Ah, that. To be honest, I was a bit confused with what you posted, if you can clarify I'll see if I can help. Also be advised, it is 3am here right now, so I'll be heading to bed shortly. Momiji 07:03, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
Well, I hope that the new message is at least somewhat clearer...--Tosiaki 07:16, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Subpage not working in test wiki

Hello, I just noticed that the subpage system is not working on the test wiki. Was that feature removed in the new MediaWiki update? Or is it a plugin that you haven't installed yet? If it's the latter then it's OK - the subpaging could be implemented later when the wiki officially opens. --This message from DeltaSierra4 was delivered on 17:09, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Dead links

I don't know if this is the correct person to talk to this about; however, the download links for AliMari Vol. 4.5 and 5 are currently not working. http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Ichinose Can a new one be uploaded?

For now I have just one question. Does it have to be image drawn from scratch, or could it be one of images available in wiki repository, like game graphics.
I guess that images available in general internet are rather bad idea...
Well, just wanted to ask to make sure. I know that copyright laws can be serious issue. DennouNeko (talk) 06:58, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

It's probably recommended to do one specifically for the Polish wiki. I can see if the person doing one for the English wiki can do one for the Polish one if you wish. Have you decided on a character yet? Momiji (talk) 07:54, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
I'd really appreciate it.
As for the character, the talk just started yesterday and some users seem to appear only once in a while. Initially I was thinking about giving reply this Sunday to give people enough time for decision.
For now it seems that Reimu got the lead as a red and white (or rather white-red) miko. Another one would be probably Marisa, but for now I'm waiting for few more opinions. DennouNeko (talk) 08:08, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
Okay, no worries. Don't forget to pick something unique and appropriate for a Polish wiki, and let me know when you do. ^.^ Momiji (talk) 08:44, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
Well, a week has passed. In the end we have decided that Mokou should represent us. Besides the resemblance to the Polish Coat of Arms, we actually found few other details, even history related. Unfortunately at this point we still don't have an image or someone who could draw it on our side... DennouNeko (talk) 05:00, 2 September 2012 (EDT)
Oh cool. We haven't spoken to Leo about the next batch of images yet, but if you don't find an artist by then I can include your logo if you wish. Momiji (talk) 05:23, 2 September 2012 (EDT)
ok, though chances that we'll find one are rather slim, so we'd really appreciate if we could add ours to the batch ^^' DennouNeko (talk) 05:33, 2 September 2012 (EDT)
Will do. ^.^ Momiji (talk) 10:46, 2 September 2012 (EDT)

Hi. I was just passing by and wondering if there are any news about the new images. • DennouNeko–[

Sorry, got pretty wrapped up with the site backend stuff for awhile. I'll poke at him today about his next batch of images. Momiji (talk) 17:32, 24 September 2012 (EDT)
Nah, it's ok. I know that sometimes adding even the simple extensions can be quite tricky and things like Scribunto are not the simplest ones :)
And about that (sorry for the sudden change of topic ^^'), not sure if it's a matter of config or something, but I've got an local test environment set up and end up with script error and a "Lua error: Internal error: Unable to decode message." whenever I try to return a string with a newline character, be it an added "\n" or text coming from parameter. I've seen that this works on the Touhou Wiki pages (displaying the lyrics with newline characters for example). Any tips? • DennouNeko–[ 18:05, 24 September 2012 (EDT)
Never mind... Figured it out somehow. Long story short: it was fault of Windows environment and the newline encoding. Fixed it after digging a bit in the extension code. • DennouNeko–[ 21:22, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

Well, It's me again... :p
Maybe not logo related, but also about images. I just wanted to verify if something like this won't cause any kind of problems. For now I was just testing it at localhost and own profile.

Hi. (yup, me again...)

Just wondering if there are any news about images. Also, wasn't sure about who or where to ask, but I'm curious about the status of Lua scripts. From the last note at the talk page it seems it's still unofficial feature.

I poked Leo, he forgot about them. I also forgot too. T-T Sorry about that. I'll figure something out with him now. Momiji (talk) 17:58, 3 December 2012 (EST)
Also I guess at this point we can start switching over to the Lua template modules. Momiji (talk) 18:03, 3 December 2012 (EST)
As for images, well, sometimes happens. I was rather worried that I'm imposing myself with asking about it ^^'
We appreciate that he's willing to do it in the first place.
And about scripts, I guess that I'll try with Lyrics or Navbox tomorrow. They seem to be ready, but I'm unable to predict what will happen for every page that uses templates now. Oh well, there's always the "undo" button...

File Uploading?

Hello, I've been trying to upload pictures and I'm not sure what is happening exactly. It seems like there are 2 different locations where I'm putting the pictures. When I upload them, they still appear in the 'upload log', but they're unusable for wiki pages. Somehow I got some to correctly upload, but I don't recall what I did to do that. I figured I should ask questions now before continuing, since I'd rather not accidentally duplicate photos again..

Any uploads should end up on Pool, which is our media commons. It may take a little bit of time for the file caching to clear up and show the new file after it's uploaded. Also see the mainpage there for cache purging info, that may fix your image problem. Momiji (talk) 21:28, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
Thank you, that certainly did fix my problem. Also, could you delete the duplications I mentioned above? They are [[1]] and [[2]]. --SeraphKratos (talk) 22:04, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
Done! Momiji (talk) 22:57, 28 August 2012 (EDT)

Lyrics page additions

Hi. I have 2 suggestion for this wiki's lyrics pages.

1. Creating categories and categorizing the lyrics by character name and game. This will enable us to, for example, search for every song derived from Fujiwara no Moko or even, using category intersection tools, every English song derived from Reimu's theme songs. Currently, this wiki doesn't have many lyrics categories.

2. If possible and in our best interests, perhaps we can ask to barrow lyrics content from http://unk0495.blog33.fc2.com/ and give credit to the source of the content. Though this isn't something I can do because I can't speak Japanese. --Sbluen (talk) 20:22, 31 August 2012 (EDT)

I'll add these ideas to the community portal as well. And here they are: Talk:Touhou Wiki/Editor Corner --Sbluen (talk) 18:54, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Ah yeah, it's probably best to post ideas like that on a place for discussion like that. Momiji (talk) 01:19, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

Subterranean Hatred translated translation pages?

...Why hasn't anyone translated the text apart from the BGMs and so on?

I don't why you're asking Momiji for this, but anyway. Every editors on this wiki are volunteers - we aren't paid or anything, and we edit what we want to edit at the time we want to edit. So your attitude of requiring stuff like it's an obvious thing to do is bothering me (SH is just another secondary fan-game so there's nothing to be surprised for some pages to be left out from editing). If you want a page to be translated, well, you should do it yourself, or simply give up. That's how it works here.--Doncot (talk) 10:06, 21 October 2012 (EDT)
I don't DEMAND it to be translated, so please don't assume I'm whining because of it. It merely bothers me that no one cared to let others who doesn't know that much Japanese understand what's going on.
Yes, I did try to translate, but there's only so much I can do with a Translator I have to make sense of in order to have an accurate translation.
I'm sorry if I made an impression of spoiled, but honestly, why can't fangames be translated?
Risanderu Yumikozuki (talk) 10:09, 22 October 2012 (EDT)
Because translators are a scare scarce resource and, well, for the most part, we are at their whim as they choose which fangames/fanworks get translated.
The wiki prioritizes canon material translation. Most fangame translation efforts occur off-site on forums; this information then migrates to the wiki. - Kiefmaster99 (talk) 11:33, 22 October 2012 (EDT)
The fact that there are a moderately large number of contributors to this wiki does not mean that there are a lot of translators. Some of us know little or no Japanese and contribute instead by uploading pictures, writing walkthroughs, copying lyrics, or in my case, writing scripts to improve the template layouts. --Sbluen (talk) 14:12, 22 October 2012 (EDT)
You guys are silly. :P Momiji (talk) 16:13, 22 October 2012 (EDT)

User:Strange Fairy Momiji, i need your help please ^_^ I forget from my other account which email i used for registration, i´m actually only have my notebook and its not up2date. Hm okay, can i ask you when you should merge this one then to the new account, also after i created the new Cirno Chiru?

Okay, let me see if I've got this right. You don't know the email for your previous account, but you also can't log into it? I assume you also forgot the password, correct?
Also, when you comment on something please sign them with four tildes (like so: ~~~~). Thanks. Momiji (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2013 (EST)

$wgCategoryCollation = 'uca-default';

Hi, Momiji. I wonder if you can help with a tecnhical issue on the Russian Wiki. WGH asked Chloe about it, but it remains unsolved, so I thought you could do it. I understand nothing in the matter so I'll just quote WGH.

The wiki currently uses default collation for sorting, which is imperfect. For instance, in Russian wiki Ё comes before А, which is clearly wrong. As a workaround, Ё can be substituted by Е in sorting keys, though.

It can be resolved by setting $wgCategoryCollation to 'uca-default' and rebuilding collation data in tables. [3]. It can probably be applied per-wiki basis, as it doesn't even change database structure, but merely with what values cl_sortkey fields are populated. I'm saying that because UCA is still not enabled on Wikimedia's wikis [4], so it isn't well tested. I'd avoid enabling it on the English wiki for now. --WGH (talk) 18:04, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Give us a couple days to look into it. Sorry about the delay. =[ Momiji (talk) 14:36, 22 January 2013 (EST)

Help Me Please?

Hi,I'm new to touhou and just bought Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil. I heard you could play touhou on windows 7 wich is what i currently have and I'm trying to install the game onto the system, but I'm having problems with it.Do you think you can help me or do you know anyone who could help me?

                                                                                                                            -NUEBLOOD

Question.

Um, sorry to bother you, but how do you put up pictures? Because I can help with Touhoumon stuff. ~Myonmon

You must wait 24 hours after creating your account before you can create pages and upload files. For the time being though, just keep editing. Hope that helps. =] Momiji (talk) 09:55, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Map

I have a map of Another World. What do I do? Do I send it to you? For there is no page for the locations. I am a bit eager, and I apologize about that. Myonmon (talk) 04:46, 26 February 2013 (UTC)

Nikenme Radio 3D translation

Where can I post this translation in the wiki? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.--Tourist X (talk) 02:29, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

If you look here, you'll see a list of other articles of ZUN talks, translated or not. Create an article like those, with the original and translated text, and add a link to it in the list. Momiji (talk) 04:30, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

The various sandboxes

So, for absolute clarification, are the sandboxes there to be tweaked around with, or is it better practice to make copies and tweak those copies in personal userspaces? --Zehnfragezeichen (talk) 01:09, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

The sandboxes are meant for modifying, although you're free to copy stuff into your userspace if you're doing heavy modifications. Momiji (talk) 01:14, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Species of Sekibanki

Hello I looked up the definition of Sekibanki's species "Rokurokubi" on Wikipedia and came across this part: "In a folktale collected for his book, Kwaidan by Lafcadio Hearn, the nukekubi is misidentified as Rokurokubi, an error that also appears in the Fighting Fantasy book, Sword of the Samurai, and in Stephen Dedman's novel The Art of Arrow-Cutting. The nukekubi is a similar but slightly different being from Japanese folklore belonging to the same overall class; instead of necks that stretch, the nukekubi have heads that completely detach." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rokurokubi The Nukekubi seems more fitting to be her species since Sekibanki's head is detached completely http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nukekubi I can't read Japanese for her official description but this is a translation of an anonymous /jp/ user "Sekibanki Rokurokubi Ability: Her head can fly seperate from her body."

Is there any clarification about her species yet?

Greetings MrsWhiterock
