Extension:Arrays

Do we have the Array extension on the wiki? I tried using it but it wasn't working, if we don't have it may I request that it's added to the wiki's extensions please? I could probably do what I'm trying to by using the parser functions we already have but it would be allot cleaner if I could just use an array. I have to continue working on planB if the extension won't be added to please let me know either way. Ycdtosa (talk) 07:48, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

I can, yeah. Anything you can't do with Lua scripting? Mamizou (talk) 00:15, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
i don't know Lua scripting or any other programming language actually, I just know what I've read about wiki markup on a couple of mediawiki help pages. All I'm trying to do is automate the first sentence of the musicartical templates description (you know the "It features arrangements of etc." part), the page already calls templates for each original title so it wouldn't be hard to automate the first sentence by defining variables on each of those templates. The problem is having them sorted properly, the best I could come up with using my limited knowledge of wiki marup was a string of statements that would run through all the main games, music CDs, print works and other works in order to display the list in the correct order. It seemed like it would be too cluttered so when I did some googling I found that array extension, it has a sort function as well as options for listing things with the appropriate punctuation and grammar. It's basically exactly what I was looking for, although since I don't know anything about Lua scripting it could be that it's entirely possible without the extension. I'd wager that it probably is doable without the extension, but I don't know how. I will say that the extension seems pretty useful even beyond my own interest in it, I was kind of surprised we didn't have it already. Ycdtosa (talk) 00:41, 9 August 2017 (UTC)
Fair enough. I usually try to keep the list of in-use extensions as small as possible, urging use of Lua scripting and whatnot, that way it's easier to keep things up to date with Mediawiki. Anyway I've set up the extension, let me know if you have any issues~! Mamizou (talk) 05:33, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

Hello.

Hello. I can't access the my account in Korean Touhou Wiki only. Maybe, the cookie data couldn't be found on the server just after the time when I try to login.

I think that this is problem of "commons.css", because of just recently I tried to using these method to change the logo file in commons.css of Korean Touhou Wiki, as seen in the ko:special:diff/1085. I can't edit anything about this problem in Korean Touhou Wiki, could you help me? Thanks. --Garam (talk) 07:46, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

I will need to upload this into the wiki server for it to work. I can do this later today. Mamizou (talk) 20:40, 14 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi; logo has been set, please undo your changes to common.css and you should see the image. Mamizou (talk) 07:08, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Now I can't edit anything in Korean Touhou Wiki because of I can't access the my account in Korean Touhou Wiki only. If you possible, would you undo 1 edit in commons.css? Thanks. --Garam (talk) 11:31, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
I remove the part "logo" in commons.css. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 11:36, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Question regarding when (and why) this wiki forked out of Wikia/FANDOM

Hello,

Can you please give me a summary of the exact timeline (and reasons why) of the Touhou Wiki leaving the Wikia network (or, as it is called now, FANDOM, or FANDOOM as it is now being nicknamed by some ex-Wikia people) to restart as an independent project? Just to learn about the history and the points of view of all involved parties, without me defending or attacking either side.

I do know that WikiDex (the Spanish version of Bulbapedia, the Pokémon encyclopedia) left FANDOM because of the portable-infobox controversy (indeed, it is WikiDex who coined up FANDOOM), and that most recently other wikis left because of the domain-name change (from wikia.com to fandom.com). I would like to listen to your version of events (that is, if you were also an ex-Wikia editor who witnessed the fork).

Thankee! ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 20:16, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

That's a pretty long story. The site started in April 2005 as a stand-alone wiki hosted by Pooshlmer (alongside his Touhou imageboard, also called Pooshlmer). Several years later, and apparently without warning, he moved the wiki to Wikia. A handful of years later Wikia started pushing out their Oasis theme, and news of their intrigues with various other wikis (WoWWiki, etc.) started coming to light. At that point we decided to pull everything off and self-host again, pulling along several other Touhou wikis in other languages. That was November 2010. So next year will be Touhou Wiki's 15th birthday, and the 10th year anniversary of it's extrication from Wikia. Mami (talk) 00:39, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

21 parameters in Template:Cite web implicitly invoking a non-existent template

I noticed that {{Cite web}}, when using the doi= parameter (mentioned on the template's documentation), blurts out a red-link "Template:Citation/identifier" error message. I also discovered that the isbn= parameter does the same thing, and when both ISBN and DOI are used, the red-link error is blurted out twice. There are 19 other parameters that serve a similar purpose and, suspectingly, will also trigger the same error if used. Has the webmaster here forgotten to implement Template:Citation/identifier (and maybe other support templates not normally called by normal editors)?

I think this is worth your attention because I am testing a new template, {{User:SilSinn9801/Cite book}}, in my sandbox userspace (with the intention of, sometime in the future, requesting it to be moved into mainspace as {{Cite book}}), and I would like the ISBN (and ISSN) parameters to work the same way they work on other wikis (like Wikipedia). ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 22:31, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

I've pulled the new Lua-based version of Template:Citation and all of it's Lua modules from Wikipedia, and the updated Template:Cite_web. Please make sure you use Template:Citation instead of Template:Citation/core for your new template. These are templates that have rarely ever been used, if at all, up until recently. If you encounter any other issues with templates on the wiki, let me know and I can update things. Mami (talk) 22:53, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
Now Template:Cite web/doc shows new red-link errors: Template:Citation Style documentation/usage vertical end, Template:Em, Template:Section link. These appear to be templates used only for documentation, not for the template itself; maybe they could be removed. Although the first one seems to be required to format the full parameter set vertical table. ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 23:49, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
That first red-link seems to be an easy one, maybe I can create it and stop worrying you. ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 00:00, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Yeah there's a lot of documentation templates for it. They're not really necessary unless you want to look at them. I'm trying to make sure the template+module is going to work fine. Mami (talk) 00:03, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
There is now a new hitch: now every call to {{cite web}} prints a citation with some weird "<templatestyles src="Module:Citation/CS1/styles.css"></templatestyles> message appended to the end. Maybe are we missing something? ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 00:12, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
The same thing also happens with my sandboxed {{User:SilSinn9801/Cite book}} template: the citation itself prints properly (including the ISBN), but with the strange Templatestyles message also appended at the end. Also, using the DOI parameter for some reason crashes the template and instead of getting a citation, I get a bold red Lua error message (the error message itself is written as a <!-- comment --> in User:SilSinn9801/Cite book/doc's source code). ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 01:02, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
And finally, all those appended error messages vanished from the citations generated by the template calls. Although using DOI parameter still crashes the templates.
Apart from that: my sandboxed {{User:SilSinn9801/Cite book}} template is now ready for deployment. Would you approve it for mainspacing as {{Cite book}}? ‐‑Silent Sinner in Scarlet (SilSinn9801)💬 06:59, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
