Hi, welcome to Touhou Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Touhou Unreal Mahjong: English patch page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- KyleH (Talk) 16:21, 14 April 2009

About the Mariari script page you made

I've been interested in trying to translating this but there's one big problem. There is no indication of what line belongs to who. Sometimes you can infer who is speaking, but other times you can't.

Sorry about that. Due to the way the dialogue is stored in the script files, it was a lot easier to just copy and paste the dialogue in. What I copied in did not include any information about who is speaking; to get that it is necessary to either play the game or check to see where the line is used later on in the script. I figured it wouldn't be necessary for a translator to know who was saying what, or that it could be infered, but it seems I was wrong. I'll add the speaker to the opening script in a bit and will get to the other sections if you really think it's necessary to continue translating. - Qazmlpok 17:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Gensokyo Tower Defense

We were speaking on the Sengoku Gensokyo page and you gave me a dump for Gensokyo Tower Defense. For the tower descriptions, what's on the wiki already aren't translations of the dump file you gave me, but in a lot of instances the wiki is more detailed than what's in the file. I'm prolly going to translate the dump file then update the wiki into "Translation" and "Comments" paragraphs for each tower. In my usual very slow fashion. OTOH, finals are almost over maybe speed will pick up.

Alright, cool. Once you finish the translations I should be able to quickly put it into the game itself. Could you translate the images too? -- Qazmlpok 08:28, 8 December 2010 (PST)
Not a problem. What are the size limits for going in the game? English takes a lot more characters than Japanese. - Tubercular Ox 09:36, 8 December 2010 (PST)
Looks like a single line can hold about 25 characters comfortably. For the first description (above the power, damage, and range) you can fit 3 lines; more than that will overflow into the images. For the second description (below the power etc), 5 lines is the maximum. All of the tower names should fit. -- Qazmlpok 17:06, 8 December 2010 (PST)

Labyrinth of Touhou archive files

Hey, I was wondering, since you're hosting the english patch for the game, did you decrypt the .dxa files for the game or did someone else? I'm trying to do the same for Touhou Hack and Slash, which has files with the same extension (and hopefully the same wrapper format). If you didn't do it, can you point me to who did? MrBigz 14:07, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

I am the one who decrypted the files. Unfortunately Hack&Slash seems to use a slightly different format for the DXA files. I can get files, but not all of them and the filenames don't match up with the contents (e.g. I get a lovely picture of Eirin named "Rinnosuke"). I've already tried to figure out what changed between the DXA formats with no success. If you can find another hacker willing to tackle the format, I can explain what I do know about the file format and possibly update my tools if he can figure out what needs to be done.
The XOR key for Hack&Slash's DXA files is 55 AA 20 55 - 55 06 55 AA - 55 D5 7C 66; this pattern is the same for every file, and is directly applied to every set of 12 bytes.
Additionally, Sanae Challenge! FUSION and Ojou-sama no DokiDoki Daisakusen (and possibly others) use the same modified DXA format, so if the changes are cracked I could post all the needed image files for those two games as well. -- Qazmlpok 15:02, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for the info. I've been doing some debugging to try to follow the .exe and maybe find some hints, as well as some disassembly, but nothing so far. I have a few people I know that could help; I'll let you know if I ever get any new info. MrBigz 15:51, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I was gonna ask, why were some of the translations from LoT 2.04 never brought over to the special disc? MrBigz 00:48, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Are you talking about the handful of names being untranslated in 3.01 (e.g. Sikieiki ver 2 was one)? If so that was a simple mistake that I never got around to fixing (still waiting on a 3.02. Preferably one that fixes the attack animations and sound). If that's not it then I have no idea what you mean. -- Qazmlpok 01:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
No, things like the main menu and the encounter percentage. Here's an example: http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/3797/loty.png MrBigz 01:27, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
You didn't patch img.dxa and img2.dxa. Download the patch again, restore thLabyrinth_3.exe to an original copy and run patch.bat again. -- Qazmlpok 01:37, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, very strange that I missed that somehow. Thanks though, I apppreciate it. :3 MrBigz 01:53, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Special Disk DXA Files

Would you be able to tell me what the key string is for the .dxa files in Labyrinth of Touhou's Special Disk? R-b005 (talk) 23:07, 11 November 2012 (EST)
9D F6 E8 09 - 9C C3 99 99 - 91 4D F0 A3 -- Qazmlpok (talk) 08:07, 12 November 2012 (EST)
Thank you very much for your help. Could you also tell me the dxadecode keystring, so I could attempt to extract the Special Disk files? Do the English files have different keystrings than the Japanese ones? -- R-b005 (talk) 22:19, 13 November 2012 (EST)
That is the keystring. The english files use the same key. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 10:46, 14 November 2012 (EST)
Thank you very much for your help. I'm sorry if me asking this is bothersome. What, specifically, do I have to do to rip the images from the img.dxa files? I've tried using "-K:9D F6 E8 09 - 9C C3 99 99 - 91 4D F0 A3" with dxadecode, but it hasn't worked. The program just exits without doing anything but creating empty "img" and "img2" folders. (Also, I've made sure that the .dxas are in the same folder as dxadecode.) A link to an English image rip with the original file names would also work as an alternative, if it's not any trouble. --R-b005 (talk) 01:24, 26 November 2012 (EST)
I've never used that program, so you're on your own there. What are you even trying to do? -- Qazmlpok (talk) 08:29, 26 November 2012 (EST)
Oh, I'm sorry. I'm trying to replace the in-game enemy graphics with different ones. --R-b005 (talk) 18:48, 27 November 2012 (EST)

Touhou Fugyouseki ~ Nightmare of Sleeping Girl

I'd like to help you create the wiki pages for this game. I've only edited a wiki once before, and I have no ability to read kanji or anything, but I'm on map difficulty level 139 of the game and have cleared a majority of the gap stages and feel I have enough knowledge to infer exactly what everything in the game does without needing to know what anything actually says.—Preceding unsigned comment added by DemonicHobo (talkcontribs)

That would be very helpful, thank you. I won't have time to start editing the pages again for a while, either. Plus, if you're that far in, you're definitely more knowledgeable than I am. I think I'm around level 45. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 12:39, 8 January 2013 (EST)

Do you think it would be too much of a spoiler to include the recruitable characters as information? I had plans to do a character page and an enemies page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DemonicHobo (talkcontribs)

I think it'd be fine. You could warn of spoilers, something like with Labyrinth of Touhou. But this game isn't very plot heavy, so I don't think it matters. I can't read Japanese either, but I think the stages with recruitable characters say which character appears there, and that list is available as soon as you find your first gap.
Also, when editing talk pages, please sign your message with 4 tildes (like this: -- ~~~~). It makes it a lot easier to keep track of who said what. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 12:49, 8 January 2013 (EST)

It appears I don't have permission to create new pages, which would make sense since I just created this account. DemonicHobo (talk) 13:12, 8 January 2013 (EST)

Created the page for you. I think you need to wait a week or so before you can create pages yourself. Lemme know if there's any others you need. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 13:22, 8 January 2013 (EST)

Don't suppose you'd like to explain to me how to throw in some images? -- DemonicHobo (talk) 20:23, 8 January 2013 (EST)

There is a link on the left sidebar. Upload file. You might not be able to upload files if you can't create pages either. Did you want the character face images uploaded? -- Qazmlpok (talk) 22:06, 8 January 2013 (EST)
Yes, why? -- DemonicHobo (talk) 23:09, 8 January 2013 (EST)

Someone else added in the stats for some units so I went ahead and added in their portraits on the character page. I just now noticed you tried to make templates for the units. Do you want to replace the stats on the character page with your templates? DemonicHobo (talk) 17:22, 9 January 2013 (EST)

Yes, I think the templates would work a lot better than the simple list on there now. I forgot the message field, and I need to cram in the physical/magical. It really does need someone better with templates and/or tables to pretty it up, though. -- Qazmlpok (talk) 18:20, 9 January 2013 (EST)
Perhaps we should use the talk page for Touhou Fugyouseki instead of your talk page.

Do you have that tool to open the DXA files of Labyrinth of Touhou 1 & 2?

Hi, I was finding for a tool that could open that DXA files but there's nothing on internet but only Media Players. So in one of my Google results I've found you and I'd like to know if you still have the program that can handle the DXA files of Labyrinth of Touhou and Labyrinth of Touhou 2. I'll be looking forward to your reply and if needed, you may send it via [email protected]. Thanks on the way!. Zebes123 16:55, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for sending the DXA tool but I don't seem to stand how to use it...

Hello again and thanks for the DXA tool you sent to me (DxLib). I managed to download it and then unzip it, I successfully located the decoder and knew that it only works via cmd. Well, here's the problem, I'm getting this error:

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-iz9BkqSaAE0/VIYSG_kmtxI/AAAAAAAAAtE/MSCAEqItdnc/s677/error%2520dxlib.png

Notice that the first path between the quotation marks is the DXA decoder while the other one is where the img1.dxa of LoT2 is located. When I run that or simply I drag the DXA over the decoder the program returns the error shown at the screenshot I attached above while a folder called "img1" is generated but with nothing inside. If you happen to know anything let me know and again thanks for your time. Zebes123 21:27, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

OH GOD IT'S WORKING!

Many thanks, I did some research at the official page but I've found nothing, then I decided to check the source code (I don't know c++ but I've found something interesting there that fortunately I stood), to use the key you provided I've to use a -K parameter, here's an screen with the results and the used command though... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-if2Rpw8PII8/VIiapkA8R2I/AAAAAAAAAtU/AXPZ8MgPpVs/s1366/working%2520efficiently.png And by the way, do the DXA files of LoT1 have a key?.
