I like the organization of the games - chronological and colour-coded. Maybe make the borders a bit larger for the colour to be more obvious, as some colours are a bit too similar and would be hard on the eyes. Move the Official Games section to where the Ongoing Wiki Work is, and move the Official/Unofficial up one as well.

I'm also not sure if the extra Japanese text at the top is absolutely necessary except for 東方. This wiki is primarily in English anyways. Or at least shorten it to 東方OOO. [[User:Kiefmaster99|Kiefmaster99]] 17:26, 5 December 2010 (PST)

:The issue with that: if i move it up, it'll lock the widths further, and force them to take up much more of the page in height, rather than width. As for them being in while ongoing wiki work is out, most people who come here will know about the games already, but won't know what to do on the wiki. And a wiki can't grow without contributors. And thicker borders, meh, I'd go for different colors over that. As for the Japanese text, it's there to be a joke about the fact that all Touhou games are named 東方OOO ~ Gratuitous English. If you notice, it reads "Eastern Global Village Network Encyclopedia ~ Touhou Wiki". Global village network = internet. Internet encyclopedia = wiki. Tah dah. Revision as of 06:35, 6 December 2010

I definitely prefer white being the primary background color for text. I think the games are laid out neater than Darkslime's too, but the color coding on the games themselves irks me a little, no idea why. The big problem though is it doesn't fit on 1024x768, which is still the default resolution on a lot of machines out there. Tubercular Ox 20:32, 29 November 2010 (PST)

It doesn't fit at 1280x960 either, at least not on Chrome. Curtmack 22:55, 29 November 2010 (PST)

As the Windows games differ a lot, there's no need to split them into two generations. The other thing is I feel that the ZUN's other works should be listed alongside the games and not crammed into the sidebar.

And the main problem as others have said, is it's way too wide. The current main page does not need to scroll even at 800x600.

The coloured button design is nice though. Maybe it it was confined to two rows kinda like the current main page. G6672D 04:13, 30 November 2010 (PST)

(Although others have already mentioned it) the design seems too wide. I like the colors though. Good job! I'm looking forward to what the front page would look like after redesigning :) Deathsoul4 15:39, 30 November 2010 (PST)

Echidna. May I say for the most part that I love you for this design? It's far easier on the eyes than Darkslime's design, and goes well with the friendly feel I think we're looking for. As mentioned above, the main problem this design has is that it is too wide. I run a somewhat widescreen monitor (1024x600) and it still has a horizontal scroll bar; that's a little much, in my opinion. As for those of you who say there is no need to separate the games by generation: I can agree in concept, as all are official Touhou games; however, for the sake of organization, assuring something can be to the right of the official games table, I'd say unless you just wanna put five games per line and be done with it, we have no other categorical means by which to separate the Windows games (and I don't see anyone complaining about the fighting and side games being organized away from the traditional shooters). Also, I will nitpick just a little bit: all words in table headers should be capitalized except articles (a, an, the; words like that). Other that these issues, though, I like this design far better than Darkslime's. AceOfHeartsDX 08:37, 1 December 2010 (PST)

Keep this one thing in mind, though: This would be nothing without Slime's design. My point is to improve on his, he improves where mine's deficient, I improve where his is deficient, and eventually we come up with something amazing. So I absolutely needn't take all credit. fix this - KyoriAsh 13:37, 3 December 2010 (PST)

Fix what part specifically? TTEchidna 01:37, 4 December 2010 (PST)
Maybe the redlink? -Wymar 07:07, 4 December 2010 (PST)
Redlink would go to this page once I mainspace it. I only haven't yet because roundycorners aren't 100% endorsed by everyone yet (but I know I'm making them grow on you guys with this main page). TTEchidna 13:12, 4 December 2010 (PST)
I mean, add the lang tag for japanese word as the sample above - KyoriAsh 16:15, 4 December 2010 (PST)
But what does it change? TTEchidna 22:11, 4 December 2010 (PST)
Natively render Japanese word in japanese environment rather in normal environment in which some user may use chinese environment to render japanese kanji words.

The improved width really does make a huge difference. I'm still liking the white backgrounds over the blue ones Darkslime has. But now the links to the games are too far down, and you've got the problem of the icons being too small to be anything other than blobs of color. For the first, maybe a "Jump to Games" link near the top instead of moving all the games themselves? For the second... bigger icons, or zoom in on just a part of the icon.

The PC-98 game covers are now small enough for me to prefer the white background. I'm tempted to move ongoing wiki work to the bottom, or even off the front page, or just put summaries in the "Other News" section. Most people who come here are more interested in obtaining info rather than wiki improvement. I like the organization of the games - chronological and colour-coded. Maybe make the borders a bit larger for the colour to be more obvious, as some colours are a bit too similar and would be hard on the eyes.
