Of course, there are other reasons. Series reuses content which makes every one of them deeper. When removing the step to explain concepts to the user, wont you agree that, it can, instead, be focused in the minor things of the huge world? Especially when people like me make games within the Doujin universe, the image of Touhou and my image links up together. The image, "This person always makes that kind of stuff" is good in my opinion. I don't think you have to make RPGs or SLGs on your own.
