Notes[edit]
- ↑ Reference to Tobi Katou's theft of Naoe Kagutsuna's longsword from the latter's estate.
- ↑ Pun on "槍衾" (yari-busuma, 'line of spears held at the ready') and "野衾" (nobusuma, a flying squirrel youkai).
- ↑ Reference to an acrobatic trick allegedly performed by Tobi Katou, as a test of his skills for Takeda Shingen. Katou first used a spear to vault over a high fence, but upon seeing that the ground on the other side was booby-trapped with spears, he flipped around in midair and safely returned to where he originally stood.
- ↑ "怪盗乱麻" (kaitou ranma): pun on 快刀乱麻 (kaitou ranma, Gordian knot) with the first two kanji replaced with the kanji for "thief". Translation approximated with "kléftis," the Greek word for "thief".
- ↑ Likely a reference to a conjuring trick allegedly performed by Tobi Katou. He caused morning-glory seeds to sprout flowers on vines out of nowhere, then cut the flowers off (mysteriously decapitating a skeptical onlooker in the process).
- ↑ 6.0 6.1 Potential pun on the manga series Magic Kaito, as well as (possibly?) a reference to the digital cinema manufacturer Blackmagic.
- ↑ Potential reference to the manga Phantom Thief Jeanne (神風怪盗ジャンヌ).
- ↑ May be a pun on "High-Speed Hunting Action," a tagline for the video game God Eater, as 半天狗 (half-tengu) is pronounced han-tengu.
- ↑ 9.0 9.1 Potential reference to "完全犯罪の事件簿" ("A Casebook of Perfect Crimes"), the Japanese translation of a book by Jon E. Lewis.
