TOO MANY CHARACTERS FEATURING GAME CATEGORY![edit]

Yes, I'd been frustrated of seeing Reimu having TOO MUCH DA*N CATEGORIES, somebody should reduce the category featuring thing.... - KyoriAsh 22:43, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Let's do that, a character having it's own category is redundant.

Agree. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 03:11, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

That being said, now it's a question of simply not hosting those categories on the chars page or deleting the categories themselves

I go with just no hosting on Char pages as this will be inside of Category:Characters anyway ♥★♦ 03:19, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Maybe delete those where they were a playable character, and let stay "imperishable night" and "Lotus Land Story" and "Touhou Hisoutensoku" at least (let just stick with the story part of that game, where she was a boss character). Add a category: "Main characters" which will feature at lest Reimu, Marisa, Youmu, Sanae and Sakuya, or just stick with "Playable characters". ☢ Quwanti 13:18, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

I really do question if Reimu had too many categories. As far as I know, Winston Churchill on Wikipedia has many many more categories than Reimu had on this Wiki. Was it really too many?--としあき 10:50, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

There are different between our wiki and the official wiki, you have to know that why we created several categories to cater only a few characters? Don't forget the official wiki have many characters can be categorized. - KyoriAsh 11:04, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
"Official wiki"? Do you mean Wikipedia by that?としあき 11:17, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
He probably does. And he's right, we can't really compare our wiki to wikipedia due to the size of both and what information it holds. Touhouwiki only concentrates on certain information (Touhou), while wikipedia concentrates on, well, everything. I did, however, tried to make a solution for it here. ☢ Quwanti 12:04, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Generations[edit]

Attempting to split the generations by story is going too far. SA has little to do with the religion subplot, UFO and TD have little to do with the Kanako subplot, and SWR has almost nothing to do with MoF and up.

Gen 2 from Gen 3 should be split the same way Gen 1 was from Gen 2: the engine, and certain aesthetic details alongside. It'd be better to draw the line at Double Spoiler, as it was with that game that he brought in those changes that have carried over to the following games thus far.

At the very least, there is no real reason to split TD from DDC, as they bear many of these aesthetics to the point where TD and DDC are pretty much like MoF and SA. Not only that, but HM and DDC were developed together, so at the very least they should be kept together.

As an aside, we should be expecting at least one more main game before he attempts to change the aesthetics again. Despatche (talk) 20:54, 20 May 2014 (UTC)

Thought I'd "bump" this, kinda worried about the lack of reply. It's a real slippery slope to try and split these by story; tEoSD, PCB, and IN have little to do with each other too. Only IaMP, which ties as much together as SWR does, and SSiB, which is a manga that ties together as much as any of the other mangas do, dare to say anything about it.

I'm sorry, but this just seems like a completely sound change with all things considered. Despatche (talk) 04:43, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
The games are splitted according to what ZUN said. It has nothing to do with the story nor the engine used, we're just sticking with what the image shows. There is not much to discuss about it... --Camilo113 (talk) 16:11, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
