Notes
- ↑ Likely to be a reference to Vaidūryanirbhāsa, one of the Buddhist pure lands where Bhaiṣajyaguru resides.
- ↑ Refers to 午前零時の参進 (lit. procession towards the gods at midnight), a religious ritual held in Fukashi Shrine, where they beat some large taiko drums at midnight on New Year's Eve to show their appreciation to the gods they enshrine, one of whom is Tenjin, a god of academics and sometimes associated to thunder and lightning. The word 参進 (sanshin; procession to holy beings) is pronounced the same as 三振 (three strikes).
- ↑ The word for "death"(shi) is a homophone for one of the Japanese words for "four". So phonetically, this card's name is identical to Fourth Drum "Land Percuss"
- ↑ A den-den daiko is a type of Japanese pellet drum. "Den-den" is onomatopoeia for drumming. "Den" can also mean "electricity".
- ↑ "Alternate Sticking" is a primary drum skill where each stroke is played by alternating hands.
- ↑ Could be based on a legend of Sugawara no Michizane, who, after his death in exile, is said to have haunted the court and caused heavy rain and lightning to strike the capital city, destroying many governors and residents. To pacify him, the imperial court built a Shinto shrine dedicated to him and deified him as Tenjin, who is often equated with Raijin.
- ↑ A reference to the popular percussion performance troupe Blue Man Group.
