Elegant Impermanence of Sakura/Characters

Most of the characters in Elegant Impermanence of Sakura are original and non-existent in the Touhou Project. The following six, however, are official Touhou Project characters and are playable in Elegant Impermanence of Sakura. Aside from the stage 1 boss and the stage 5 midboss, the remaining characters below this point are originals.

乐园的可爱巫女 Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise Reimu Hakurei Playable Character, Stage 3A Midboss 1, Stage 3A Boss ○乐园的可爱巫女 姓名：博丽 灵梦 （はくれい　れいむ） 种族：人类 能力：在空中自由飞行程度的能力 幻想乡的维护者，博丽神社的巫女小姐 平时是个无忧无虑，不管对谁都会很和善 即使对于总是缠着自己的妖怪也不会施以惩戒的女孩子 可能正是因为性格的缘故吧，这样的她也被幻想乡的众人喜爱着 冬去春来，灵梦的朋友们也一如既往地预定了赏花会 但是受异变的影响，在神社的积雪丝毫没有见少的当下 我们红白色的主角也没办法安逸下来了 就在她决定出门解决事件时 一直神神秘秘的八云紫突然出现在了面前 “几天后的赏花会准备得怎么样了？” 灵梦被问了这样一个问题 “还能怎么样，现在有更紧急的情况要处理吧” “既然都这样闲了，那就来帮这边的忙啊” 对此，紫也没有提出反对意见 ○ Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise Name: Reimu Hakurei Species: Human Abilities: Capable of flying in the air The Hakurei shrine maiden, and a maintainer of Gensokyo. She's usually a carefree person who is kind to everyone, refusing to punish even the youkai that pester her. Perhaps it's because of this personality that the people of Gensokyo love her. As winter turns to spring, Reimu's friends have scheduled a flower viewing party as usual, but under the influence of the incident, when the snow at the shrine has not seen the slightest decrease, our red-and-white heroine is unable to settle down. Just as she decided to go out to solve the incident, the mysterious Yukari Yakumo suddenly appeared in front of her. "How are the preparations for the flower-viewing festival coming up in a few days?", Reimu was asked this question "What more can I do, there's more urgent things to deal with right now, yeah?" "Since we're both free to do so, come over here and lend me a hand." To this response, Yukari raised no objections either.

境界边缘的妖怪 Youkai of Boundaries Yukari Yakumo Playable Character; Stage 3A Midboss 2, Stage 3A Boss ○境界边缘的妖怪 姓名：八云 紫（やくも　ゆかり） 种族：妖怪 能力：操纵境界程度的能力 她是潜藏在境界内部，令人难以捉摸的妖怪 无论是行为风格，抑或是其他什么信息都不被旁人知晓 自诩幻想乡的缔造者（之一），但是对于这次影响全境的异变却并不上心 刚刚从冬季的蛰居中醒来，悠闲的她自然不会想做多余的事情 换句话说，比起解决问题，赏花会似乎更重要一些 于是她就这样慢悠悠地踱到了博丽神社，向那里的巫女询问准备进度 结果宴会的情况没有问到，还被灵梦要求着协助退治黑幕 本来想放着不管的，但是反正也闲得有些过分了 陪着小灵梦出去逛逛好像也不错，又不会损失什么 于是她久违地提起了兴致，跟着自己的搭档一起向竹林飞去 当然，这也是灵梦的主意 ○ Youkai of Boundaries Name: Yukari Yakumo Species: Youkai Abilities: Capable of manipulating boundaries An elusive youkai who lurks within boundaries. Whether it's her demeanor or some other information unknown to others, this self-proclaimed creator of Gensokyo (one of it's creators anyway) wasn't concerned about the incident currently affecting the whole region. Having just woken up from her winter hibernation, such a laid-back woman would naturally not want to do anything extra. In other words, the flower viewing party seemed to be more important than solving the issue, so she just took her time and headed to the Hakurei Shrine and asked the shrine maiden there about her preparation progress. But consequentially, Reimu didn't respond to any questions concerning the banquet, but rather had asked her to help in eliminating the mastermind. She would have liked to leave it alone, but in any case, she too was a bit too leisurely, and with the young Reimu accompanying her, what was there for her to lose? Thus, her spirit was ignited for the first time in a while as she followed her partner to the Bamboo Forest. That, of course, was also Reimu's idea.

Visitors From the Living and the Dead (此岸彼岸的访客)

渴望长生的魔法少女 Magician Longing For Longevity Marisa Kirisame Playable Character; Stage 3B Midboss 1, Stage 3B Boss ○渴望长生的魔法少女 姓名：雾雨 魔理沙（きりさめ　まりさ） 种族：人类 能力：使用魔法程度的能力 住在魔法之森的普通人类，目前正在为实现永生而努力 不像其他魔法使那样阴郁，她的性格十分开朗，也经常去找灵梦玩 冬春之交，博丽神社也预定了新一年的赏花会 于是她打算一如既往地过去帮朋友的忙 但是在那里等着魔理沙的并不是仅仅是红白色的巫女 而是冥界的大小姐，西行寺幽幽子 从对方的口中，她得知了幻想乡最近的异变情况 并且被软磨硬泡地要求一起行动 比起寺庙里锈蚀的大钟，抑或是一夜化冻的雾之湖 除了爱丽丝翻新了一下洋馆之外，森林似乎并没有什么太大的变化 这使得魔理沙对于事件的全貌并没有一个很好的了解 于是就一起行动吧，她这样想 不管怎样，多一个帮手总是没错的，不管是现在还是死后 ○ Magician Longing For Longevity Name: Marisa Kirisame Species: Human Abilities: Capable of using magic An ordinary magician living in Gensokyo. She's currently working on obtaining immortality. Unlike the other, more gloomy magicians, she has a cheerful personality, and she often goes to play with Reimu. As the winter turned into spring, the Hakurei Shrine had scheduled a new year's flower viewing party, so she planned on going there to help her friend like she always has. However, it wasn't just the shrine maiden waiting for Marisa, but also the princess of the Netherworld, Yuyuko Saigyouji. She learned from the latter's mouth about the recent changes to Gensokyo, and was persuaded to work alongside her. Compared to the temple's bell rusting over or the Misty Lake freezing overnight, the Forest of Magic hasn't experienced much change outside of the renovations Alice made to her house. Therefore, Marisa didn't quite grasp the whole of the situation. "So, why don't we head out together?", she thought. No matter the case, it's always good to have a helping hand, be it now or in death.

心无彷徨的幽灵 Stationary Ghost Yuyuko Saigyouji Playable Character; Stage 3B Midboss 2, Stage 3B Boss ○心无彷徨的幽灵 姓名：西行寺 幽幽子（さいぎょうじ　ゆゆこ） 种族：亡灵 能力：操纵死亡程度的能力 她是幽冥楼阁的大小姐，西行寺家的家主 能够很轻易地诱人死亡，但是如今并不会贸然使用它 据说先前也很喜欢发动能力，但是后来不知为何收敛了起来 现在的性格倒是很平易近人，也经常出没于博丽神社 自然，对于悠闲的她而言春天最重要的事情就是那边的活动了 不巧的是，就在这种节骨眼上，灵梦打算去解决最近发生的事件 异变倒是其次，赏花会似乎也会被推迟 多等几天虽然不是问题，但是空出来的时间该做什么呢 正当她出于无聊，由着性子在人里闲逛的时候 她注意到魔理沙向着神社的方向飞了过去 反正也是很闲，就拉着这个魔法使一起去退治妖怪好了 总之就先去辉夜那里吧，夜晚的竹林可是很漂亮的呢 ○ Stationary Ghost Name: Yuyuko Saigyouji Species: Ghost Abilities: Capable of manipulating death The princess of Hakugyokurou, and the head of the Saigyouji household. She has the ability to easily bring one to their death, but nowadays, she doesn't use this ability in a rash way. It's said that she used to enjoy exercising this power, but she restrained herself later on for some reason. She's a very happy-go-lucky person these days, but she's also known to frequent the Hakurei Shrine, so naturally, a freewheeler like her would find the events there to be of upmost importance in the springtime. Unfortunately, at that time, Reimu had been planning on solving an issue that occurred recently. Though the incident here was minor, it seems that the flower-viewing will be postponed. She didn't have any problem with waiting a few more days, but there was the issue of figuring out what to do with her spare time. As she was wandering around out of boredom, she noticed Marisa flying towards the shrine. "Since I have nothing better to do anyway, why not take this magician along with me and do some youkai extermination? Anywho, let's go meet with Kaguya first! The Bamboo Forest is so beautiful at night..."

竹林的火凤凰 Phoenix of the Bamboo Forest Fujiwara no Mokou Playable Character; Stage 3C Midboss 1, Stage 3C Boss ○竹林的火凤凰 姓名：藤原 妹红（ふじわら　の　もこう） 种族：人类 能力：不老不死程度的能力 在很久之前意外服下不死药，从而获得了永生的蓬莱人 曾经将辉夜作为自己的仇敌对待，但随着时间的流逝也逐渐淡然了 时光飞逝，转眼就是一千三百年 虽然如今她依旧还是会与那位公主互相攻击 但已经完全没有了久远过去的恨意 现在的妹红，也只是想作为一个普通人在幻想乡好好活下去 原本来说，她对于解决异变并没有什么兴趣 在先前的几百年内曾经做过的妖怪退治，现在也不想拿出来再提 但是不知为何，在这次事件中妹红感受到了熟悉的气息 于是她在好友慧音的劝说之下 罕见地燃起了沉寂已久的好胜心，打算去亲手退治黑幕 或许这件事情对她而言很重要吧 ○ Phoenix of the Bamboo Forest Name: Fujiwara no Mokou Species: Human Abilities: Capable of neither aging nor dying A Person of Hourai who accidentally drank an elixir of immortality long ago, which granted her eternal life. She once considered Kaguya her enemy, but this grudge gradually faded as time went on. Fast forward 1,300 years later, and though she continues to fight with the princess to this day, the hatred she bore in the past is no longer there. Nowadays, Mokou just wants to live a normal life as a resident of Gensokyo. She initially didn't have any interest in resolving the incident; She's done some youkai extermination herself in the previous few centuries, and isn't willing to bring it up again. But somehow, in this particular incident, Mokou had sensed a familiar aura, and was thereby convinced by her friend Keine. With the rare ignition of a long-simmering competitive spirit, she intended to fight the mastermind first-hand. Perhaps this matter was very important to her...

追溯历史的半兽 History-Tracing Half Beast Keine Kamishirasawa Playable Character; Stage 3C Midboss 2, Stage 3C Boss ○追溯历史的半兽 姓名：上白泽 慧音（かみしらさわ　けいね） 种族：半白泽 能力：吞噬与创造历史程度的能力 拥有一半白泽血统的人类，目前是寺子屋的老师 本人对于历史很是如数家珍，一定程度上也能通过能力改变它 在这场异变中，村子多多少少也受到了一些影响 不过问题并不严重，再说了博丽的巫女一定也会出手解决 所以她也没有太过于在意，直到自己的好友妹红前来询问看法 虽然不知道对方在忧虑什么，但是看起来像是重要的事情 毕竟，这样认真的妹红还是第一次见 于是慧音便想着一起结伴出发解决异变，无论如何自己也能当个帮手 虽然自己并不擅长符卡，但是多多少少也比一个人单独去要好 这样的异变，某个能操控永远和须臾的人肯定是首先要考虑的嫌疑犯 因此首先先回竹林问问辉夜吧，那个公主有可能知道什么 这是她提出的第一个建议 ○ History-Tracing Half Beast Name: Keine Kamishirasawa Species: Were-hakutaku Abilities: Capable of eating and creating history A half-human bearing hakutaku blood, currently working as a teacher in the Human Village. She's very familiar with history, and is able to change it to a certain extent. The incident at hand has more-or-less affected the village, but it didn't seem to be a serious issue. And besides, the Hakurei shrine maiden would certainly step in to resolve things, so she didn't care too much. That is, until her best friend Mokou came by to ask her a question. Keine didn't understand what she was worried about, but it sounded important. She wasn't skilled at handling spellcards, but it was better than going alone. When it comes to an incident like this, a certain someone with the ability to manipulate eternity and the instantaneous is definitely the first suspect to be considered. "So, the first thing on the agenda would be to head to the Bamboo Forest and ask Kaguya. That princess may know something." That was her first suggestion.

Princess of the Eternal and Instantaneous Name: Kaguya Houraisan Species: Lunarian Ability: Capable of manipulating the eternal and the instantaneous An old friend of ours, the Lunar Capital's princess who lives in the Bamboo Forest. She seems to not really care about the matters on Earth, but deep down she quite likes the atmosphere in Gensokyo. Like that, day by day, she lived a leisurely and contented eternal life. After seeing the bamboo flower, she started to feel the incident this time wasn't so simple. But even she didn't have any ideas on how to resolve the problem. It would be better if everything naturally settled down without her doing anything. At this time, people from outside the forest suddenly came over, seemingly viewing her as a suspect. It wouldn't be bad to take this opportunity to send someone else to take of this. With that thought, she proactively engaged in a spell card battle.

Medium Who Reveals the Future Name: Emitsu Kaminazuki Species: Ungaikyo Ability: Capable of performing divination as a medium She is a mirror tsukumogami. When people look at her, they will be able to see strange scenes. In reality, contrary to common knowledge, what she shows is not the one currently looking at the mirror, but those who noticed her before. Thousands of years in the past, before she had changed into this form, as a beautiful and expensive hand mirror, she naturally was subject of nobles' delight. Not only because her value was exceptional, but more because she was a valuable as a weapon during the changing of dynasties. Because of this, even though she was always kept in palaces, she was still able to interact with all types of people. All those living must meet their end, all those illustrious must decay Like that, she witnessed the rise and fall of empires, and the birth and death of many clans. She let herself experience their world, turning it into her own experience. This is the true power of an ungaikyo. The so-called connecting of two worlds is simply this. While things change, stars spin, time flows, and the dust of the past scatters away, their world is still perfectly preserved in that precious treasure mirror. As a foundation for learning, these fantastical shadows gave her an opportunity to be in the moment, helping her grow her knowledge As such, she naturally acquired a powerful youkai art, stronger than most tsukumogami. This power came completely from her brains, in other words, from the precious knowledge gained from many years of history. This knowledge could even be described as on the same level as that of those who forcefully took things for themselves. As such a special youkai she knew perfectly well that "There is always estrangement between people". So she started learning to spread insights in her own way, being a so-called "medium". This time, she was also able to secretly draw some conclusions. Because she was also afflicted, she decided to provide the resolvers of the incident their deserved assistance. One week after the incident was resolved, she had become quite close to everyone, and received Reimu's invitation to use her status as a mirror to help Hata no Kokoro practice expressing herself. Even though this is off-topic, but they should go together quite well, since they're both tsukumogami.

Illusionist of Hourai Name: Hisoka Uroki Species: Phantom Ability: Capable of concealing reality She is a phantom youkai that enjoys solitude, always avoiding humans. But as humans' range of activity has increased, she can no longer find an isolated-enough living space. Thus, she started searching for partnership, from the hermits, celestials, and others who sought seclusion. Even though this mountain already had a master, it was enough for her to be far away from humans. Her strength comes from mystery, and a secluded environment would give her enough strength. The hermits and celestials all hoped to distance themselves from mortals so they wouldn't be disturbed, so she used her power and hid the entire surrounding environment. Once, someone ran into two children playing chess on the mountain, once they were finished and came down the mountain it had been one hundred years. In reality, the mountain and children in this person's eyes were both false. The real mountain had already been hidden by her, and the children were created by her from the imagination of humans who had never been on the mountain. Those who barged their way into the mountain were trapped in secrecy, and the real celestials were never bothered by mortals. At some unknown point in time, her job became to guard the secrecy of the Asama Shrine hidden deep in the mountain. Although gods are said to need human faith, and thus cannot be too far from humans, but they still need a baseline distance between them and mortals. The gods lived under her secrecy protection without being disturbed by the racket of modern cities, and she herself also had peace and quiet. Just like that, one day several hundred years later... She suddenly discovered that the shrine that she guarded, along with the surrounding mountain peaks, had entered an unfamiliar new world. She thought of the Youkai Expansion Project from several hundred years ago, and knew that this was Gensokyo. But it wasn't important to her where she was. Her job of protecting the secrecy of the shrine had not changed at all. Today, after discovering intruders, she concealed the peak where she lived, using a false layer of clouds obscure everything. But the people that came this timed were different. Not only did they see through the cloud layer, they also found her hiding inside. They had even seen through her secret attacks, and within a few rounds she had been defeated. Only at this time did she realize that they were a team of a human and a youkai. Her ability was extremely effective on humans, but youkai could see through these tricks. Even though she felt frustrated from losing, but their objective was not to take over this place. Shrine Maiden of the Country of Sakura Name: Inori Jinguuji Species: Human Ability: Capable of communicating to gods using divine dance She is the second daughter of the Jinguuji family. Since she was little, she has trained to be a shrine maiden with her older sister, Kanade Jinguuji. Because she was the second daughter, and her powers were not as strong as the eldest daughter, everyone felt that the older sister was a better fit to take over the shrine, and paid lots of attention to her training. The younger sister, Inori, was quite satisfied with this leisurely life. One day, the older sister suddenly said to her family, "I refuse to honor this kind of god any longer, so I can no longer serve my role as shrine maiden." Before the elders could even recover from their surprise and anger, no trace of the older sister was left by the next day. In this age of waning faith, it's common to see people refuse to take on these divine roles. Even in the Jinguuji family that has honored the gods for centuries, many of the younger generation leave the family to take other jobs. Because of this, and for the shrine's continued existence, Inori began to be seen as the shrine's successor. With the older sister running away as an example, the elders were especially strict with Inori's training. Not only were more expectations put on her than on her sister, the standard was also much higher And if she showed even a bit of laziness, it was viewed as a sign of escape and she was admonished heavily. No matter how much effort she gave, she received not one sentence of praise in return. "I've always been worse than older sister, I can't do as well as she can" Every night, she would curl up, cry, and think this to herself. These days persisted until the kannushi of the shrine, Makoto Jinguuji, passed away. From this day on, all of the Jinguuji family's younger people had left the shrine, and all the elders were no longer in the realm of living. She was the only one left. She was very afraid after taking over the shrine, but as the days went by, and not many people came to worship, she calmed down quite a bit. Gradually, she discovered that when she did not have to coordinate divine matters, she actually didn't despise the daily life of a shrine maiden, and actually felt it serene. One day, with no worshippers as usual, she saw the god she honoured angrily returning to the shrine, taking the shrine's treasure offering, and flying away. She couldn't even catch up to her to ask. While still stunned, the atmosphere surrounding the shrine suddenly changed. The strange and wondrous sensation caused her to lose consciousness. In the gap between dreams and reality, she saw Gensokyo...

Sakura God of Transient Elegance Name: Shizuka Oukain Species: God Ability: Capable of manipulating glory and splendour Long ago, she was already an active and widely revered god, controlling the ability to make things illustrious. Believers often prayed to her, hoping that their own families would be able to bloom and become illustrious like flowers. She was enshrined an many shrines across Japan. The one that received the most attention, and the one that she lived in, was the shrine located on Mount Fuji. But, this shrine not only housed this one god. Her older sister, Iwanagahime, was also worshipped by the people. As two gods worshipped in the same shrine, their relationship was quite poor, frequently quarreling and conflicting. One time in a war of words with her older sister, she smashed the peaks of Yatsugatake, because she couldn't allow there to be a mountain in the world taller than her own Mount Fuji. Although her little heart of hubris was satisfied, her older sister thought this was too far, and angrily left Mount Fuji. She went to live on Yatsugatake, unwilling to be with her anymore. After separating with her older sister, many eons passed. Humans entered an era where they no longer needed gods, and offerings to her gradually waned. She started finding an exit plan, and decided to enter Gensokyo to collect faith. Although she and her sister didn't get along, she still extended an invitation to go to Gensokyo together. But her older sister, for some reason, refused her offer. She originally saw this as an opportunity to improve her relationship with her older sister, but didn't think that she was still the same, still so stubborn, spitting on her well-meaning offer. She felt like she had embarrassed herself and felt very angry. After returning to the shrine, she glanced at the Sakura Jade within the shrine, and an evil idea sparked in her heart. "Steal older sister's divine power, and take over our formerly-shared miracles!" The Sakura Jade honored within the shrine was a miracle she and her older sister had created in the past, and was also part of their power. Yatsugatake was not far from Mount Fuji, and this distance did not inhibit Iwanagahime from using the divine power within the Sakura Jade. And if she passed through the Great Barrier, she could possible sever the connection between the Sakura Jade and Iwanagahime, taking over all of its power. She lifted the Sakura Jade, left the shrine without even bidding farewell to her own shrine maiden, and angrily flew to the Great Barrier. She naïvely did not think the Sakura Jade would split in half as she passed through the barrier, the stone fragments transforming into sakura petals and fluttering away. Seeing this after entering Gensokyo, she was stunned. The remaining half of the Sakura Jade, the sea of clouds in front of her eyes, all emanated a familiar feeling. An island in the sky, that was actually her own shrine, along with part of Mount Fuji, had all entered Gensokyo. She had not expected any of this, but the chaos caused by her forceful breakthrough of the border of fantasy and reality did not just stop at this. The half Sakura Jade in her hand was gradually transforming into fluttering sakura flowers, "impermanence", and drifting to the various locations of Gensokyo. Hot, freshly-steeped black tea in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, became cold tea within seconds. And the bronze bell and stone stele in the human village with thousands of years of history became fraught with rust and cracks. Illustrious things in this world never last long, like the withering of sakura after the spring bloom, or the loneliness after awakening from a sweet dream. And the diffusing "impermanence", only accelerated this cycle of illustriousness and decay. The balance of "impermanence" and "permanence" in Gensokyo had been broken, and in order to quell the incident, the shrine maiden and others came to pay her a visit. Seeing these citizens of Gensokyo, she hatched a plan...

Trivia

• According to the developers, the boss fight against Marisa and Yuyuko in stage 3 is an allegory for Shizuka's plotline:
  • The midboss spell Sorrowful Butterfly "Rise of Secularity, Decline of Faith" hints at Shizuka's declining faith before her move to Gensokyo.
  • The Zhuangzi butterfly references in the first boss spell represents the blurring of boundaries between dreams and reality, alluding to her crossing the Great Hakurei Barrier.
  • The second and third boss spells reference Shizuka's power of impermanence and Ei's power of permanence, respectively.
  • Finally, Marisa's Last Spell visually references the Sakura Jade splitting in two at the start of the incident, and the halves eventually getting reunited at the end of the Extra stage.

Stone God of Eternal Stillness Name: Ei Iwabuchi Species: God Ability: Capable of manipulating stillness and unchanging She is the older sister of Shizuka Oukain and a god that controls the power of permanence. A simple explanation of this so-called permanence, is an unchanging power, one that never wanes with time. Not many people know, eternal elegance can only be created when she and her younger sister use their divine powers together. However, she loathed her impulsive and emotional little sister, and her little sister responded in kind. Finally, one day, she could not stand her little sister's antics anymore, and left the mountain peak and shrine where they both lived. Although to this day many shrines still honor them both together, but due to the wall between them, they could no longer create eternal elegance together. There were no more followers, no more disorderly divine affairs, and no more annoying little sister. Even though her faith was reduced, she fully enjoyed every day's unchanging silence and freedom. From the day she and her little sister separated, many more years passed. These years, she had not been busy collecting more faith and growing her power, unlike her little sister. Instead, she had come into contact with some hermits with which she held similar interests. And had also experienced many different cultures, including many things from Heaven and the mortal realm. Time flowed by like water. One day, the little sister she hadn't in forever suddenly showed up, inviting her to a place called "Gensokyo" to collect faith. She refused. Unlike her sister, she never cared about how many people had faith in her, nor about whether she was strong or weak. She was chasing freedom, and had already agreed with other hermits to travel the world. She was unwilling to circle herself into this tiny so-called "paradise". After her little sister stormed off, she suddenly sensed that the miracle she created with her sister 100 years ago had been shattered. As she expected, before long, half a stone had flown to her home. She understood her little sister, understood her as much as she loathed her. It must have been that her impulsive little sister tried to bring the Sakura Jade forcefully into Gensokyo, her goal perhaps being to take all of the miracle's power for herself. But, the heavens would never allow her to take another god's power, so of course the Sakura Jade shattered. Yet now this half of the Sakura Jade, to her was like a hot potato. Although it still had useful energy, the edges were leaking out the power of permanence. This power of stopping would have disastrous consequences. Snow built up on mountain peaks would not melt even in summer, rivers would no longer flow. Perhaps after a few days, even the plants and animals and humans that lived nearby would cease to grow. Her little sister had probably entered Gensokyo now. Thinking this, Ei became angry. Seems like her travel plans could only be postponed. Her little sister was still fighting with her, getting in her way, just like the many times in the past. But several days later, when she saw a human and youkai protected by her sister's power appear before her, she came to an understanding, and felt gratified for her little sister's growth, though it was a bit of a shame she wasn't more straightforward. Although she could simply resolve the situation by giving them her half of the Sakura Jade, she still wanted to help her little sister. She didn't want her to receive the disdain of all of Gensokyo's citizens alone. So she intentionally fought with those citizens, and to their bodies added the power of permanence and at the same time cast a secret art on her half of the stone, to help her little sister resolve the incident. "This should be enough, consider this my farewell gift You'll certainly be able to live a good life in Gensokyo." She thought, and stopped worrying, as all the gratitudes and grudges of the past evaporated like mist. And like that, she left Japan to travel the world.
