Notes[edit]

  1. The kanji 紫 (purple) is also used in Yukari's name. While in this case it's explicitly read as "murasaki" and not "yukari", the name of the card can also be taken as commentary on Yukari's longetivity (as Higan will shine later for her than for others).
  2. 華胥 (Kasho in Japanese, Huaxu in Chinese) is a Chinese utopia described in the Liezi. The Yellow Emperor was said to have gone to Huaxu in his dreams. Once he woke up, he became enlightened.
  3. 3.0 3.1 Yomi: the land of the dead in Shinto mythology. Yomotsu-Hirasaka: the slope leading down to Yomi.
  4. 4.0 4.1 A reference to the "Mandala of the Land of Heavenly Life" (天寿国繍帳, tenjukoku shūchō), commissioned after the death of Prince Shōtoku. "天寿" (heavenly life) may possibly be a misprint of "无寿" (roughly, non-life) which is the phrase used in this spellcard.
