Extra Stage

If this is your first time with this extra stage and you want to clear it: USE REISEN.

And note that when I say 200 graze, I really mean "enough graze to get the chapter bonus/life piece"

Shout out to Yatsuzume because I'm using his routes.

1st Stage Portion

First Chapter

This first chapter is simple streaming. Make sure you wait a bit before killing the fairies so you can get 200 graze.

Second Chapter

The key to this second chapter is knowing where the enemies spawn so you can kill them quickly before they fill up the screen with walls of bullets. Enemy formation goes as following:

  1. One in the middle
  2. Two to its left and right
  3. Two near the sides of the screen
  4. Two closer to the middle than the two before

Getting 200 graze is sorta tricky, but it is possible if you wait on killing the fairies (but then they could wall you)

Third Chapter

The enemies here shoot aimed bullets. You can just stream at the bottom, and you'll be fine. Getting 200 graze on this chapter is pretty tough, so I wouldn't recommend it. If you're Sanae, you should use a bomb before the second wave of fairies, and use the bomb's invincibility frames to graze the bullets by hugging them.

Fourth Chapter

This chapter consists of fairies in wave shapes, like in Stage 3. Upon entering, they fire a bullet aimed directly at you, and upon death, they fire a yellow laser in the angle they were travelling. Start at the middle-right of the screen, and stream your way down and to the left, but don't shoot anything. This method doesn't give you 200 graze, but unless you're Reisen, you won't have high chances of getting 200 graze in this chapter anyways, but can get 200 graze by shooting fairies and hugging lasers with shields. If you're Sanae, you should start at the bottom-left and stream the bullets to the right while going between the lasers. If you hug the lasers enough while you keep streaming you should get 200 graze with full shooting down once you're on the right side of the screen at the end.

Fifth Chapter

Fairies will come from the top of the screen and fly around, shooting randomly aimed rice bullets while they do so. The best strategy is to stand in the middle, grazing whatever seems safe for 200 graze. If you're Sanae you should stop shooting for a second to let the fairies shoot more bullets to be grazed.

Midboss: Doremy

Butterfly "Butterfly Supplantation"

Stand under Doremy (but not so close she can ram you), and dodge the butterflies accordingly. I wouldn't bother with getting 200 graze on this spell.

Super Express "Dream Express"

Doremy shoots a large, v-shaped row of bullets, with the center of it aimed it you, along with some red mentos (those large round bullets). Trying to dodge in between the lanes is very dangerous and I'd recommend with just macroing the thing entirely. Getting 200 graze is possible, but make sure you're confident before you try.

Crawling Dream "Creeping Bullet"

Bullets will spawn from around you. Here the strategy is to move in the same direction as the bullets, but a little bit behind. That's where the bullets are least dense. Getting 200 graze on this chapter is pretty easy, but fair warning: If you bomb or die on this spell, Doremy will drop a bomb instead of an extra life. A way to cheat this with Reisen is to enter this spell with bomb shields. If you get hit with a bomb shield but don't use another bomb, Doremy will still drop the 1up.

2nd Stage Portion

Sixth Chapter

This is virtually the same as the fifth chapter.

Seventh Chapter

Groups of fairies will alternate between coming from the left and right sides of the screen, shooting aimed lasers at you. If you are using a homing shot, this becomes quite easy, but without one, you will need to either restream or circle around. Note that a shot like Reisen with full shields can get thousands of graze on this chapter.

Eighth Chapter

Oh boy, it's the jellybeans of doom!

The key here is to memorize enemy spawn locations, and kill them before they can vomit jellybeans (those bean shaped bullets, idk what to call them) all over the screen. They go as follows:

  1. One to the immediate right of the earth in the background
  2. One to the immediate left of the earth in the background
  3. One to the right edge of the earth in the background
  4. One to the left edge of the earth in the background
  5. Two in the middle, moving outwards
  6. Two from the sides, moving inwards

If you don't kill them ASAP, you are going to get owned.

Getting 200 graze is quite risky here.

Ninth Chapter

Three big fairies will come from the top of the screen, one after another, shooting jellybeans in curved rings. There is a safespot that allows you to get 200 graze easily and not die, but it's quite precise. If you're a geography freak, I'll just say that it's in the northern half of Vietnam. Alternatively, you can use this strategy with Reisen. Note that the final big fairy drops either a full bomb or a bomb piece, depending on whether or not you've died or bombed.

Hecatia (and Junko)

It's the fashion goddess herself, Hecatia! (With some Junko). Junko will fly away before the fight begins, so you won't have to worry about her for now.

First Nonspell

(The dual sets of kunai remind me of PC-98. Anyone else?)

The pink kunai sets go in lanes, but if Hecatia moves awkwardly, you can end up having to do a weird dodge. The important thing here is that this chapter only gives 50% shooting bonus because Junko flew away, so you need 400 graze to get the life piece on this chapter.

Otherworld "Omagatoki"

Hecatia spawns bullets in a wheel shape, which shoot out into rows. This is the easiest attack, and you can get 200 graze by hugging the rows of bullets.

Second Nonspell

This nonspell is one of the MANY times Reimu's small hitbox pays off in this stage. It's hard to describe this nonspell. The one thing I can say is that you need to be to the right of the slow kunai wave, so that you can dodge the fast one. Getting 200 graze on this chapter is pretty easy.

Earth "Impurity Within One's Body

This spell is vertical streaming. The fireballs at the side turn into lasers at a point. If there's a large space between fireballs, that means that there will be a safe time when they turn into lasers when you can restream. Note that Hecatia shoots rings of stars if you get close. Getting 200 graze on this chapter is easy as long as you graze the lasers.

Third Nonspell

There are 4 waves, two easy ones and two hard ones. The first two have clearly defined lanes, while the next two are a bit odd. For the first wave, move left. For the second wave, move right. For the third wave, tap left until the lanes are clear, then run right and vice versa for the fourth lane. This repeats until the attack ends. Getting 200 graze is easy on this chapter.

Moon "Apollo Reflection Mirror"

Lasers from shallow angles with some stars mixed in, looks fun :P

Hecatia shoots rings of stars, which reflect into lasers upon impact with the top, left, and right edges. The trick here is to not get stuck at the bottom. Due to the shallow angle of the stars, you can easily get stuck at the bottom, and that's not good. Getting 200 graze is easiest with Reisen.

Fourth Nonspell (Junko)

It's the return of everyone's favorite nonspells! (ZUN why)

There's nothing I can say to make this easier other than use Reimu. Note that by moving down with the rings, you can get 200 graze sorta easily. Reisen can actually tank the waves by standing under Junko and taking hits.

"Simple Danmaku for Cornering a Trapped Rat"

Also known as the biggest waste of time in LoLK history. Junko shoots bullets in lanes, and you have to circle around. If you see behind where the bullets are firing, there are two lanes. Get in between them. Once you make it there, the rest of the spell is "Circle and if you forget to move lol you're dead". Timing this spell out (letting the timer go to 00.00) is an actual threat in this card, and you won't get a life piece because of it, so I recommend moving quickly when you're not under Junko, and slowing down when you are. Don't move too fast though, or you'll run out of space and die. Getting 200 graze on this spell should be a piece of cake (Reimu's homing can help lots here).

Fifth Nonspell

This nonspell is the epitome of LoLK and its "quality programming".

As you can see, bullets are shot in walls, and Hecatia has some very, VERY odd movement. Depending on how she moves, the gaps can either be really big or ridiculously tiny.

Thanks a lot, ZUN.

Otherworld "Hell's Non-Ideal Danmaku"

I can't be bothered to explain, just follow this.

Sixth Nonspell

This is the same as the second nonspell, but with a few slight changes. Once again, Reimu's small hitbox comes into play here. Getting 200 graze is easy, but not using a bomb or dying is a lot harder to do.

Earth "Rain Falling in Hell"

Fireballs come from the bottom of the screen, and fall back down as lasers once they reach the top, while Hecatia shoots rings of stars. While you need to stay in the middle to damage Hecatia, when the lasers in the middle are going to fall, you need to rush out to the left or right to avoid death. Make sure you look to see what's coming up and what's coming down.

Seventh Nonspell

This is the exact same as the third nonspell, but the kunai are in groups of 4 instead of 2. Same strategy applies here.

Moon "Lunatic Impact"

Three moons will fly out of Hecatia, one after another, and aim themselves at you. Upon hitting an edge, it will stop, spawn a bunch of stars from the top of the screen, and aim for you again. I can't really recommend a route, but you can try to take things from this video.

Eighth Nonspell (Junko)

Same as the fourth non, but now in red! Don't bother with getting 200 graze on this chapter, because this chapter gives 0% shooting bonus for god knows why.

"Pristine Danmaku for Killing a Person"

Spawns rings. That's it. If you're Reisen, you can stand under Junko and tank the hits with bomb shields, bu for every other character, you need to dodge the rings at the sides, moving to the center to damage Junko when you can. Don't bother with getting 200 graze on this spell, it's not worth it.

Trinitarian Rhapsody

(also known as the Illuminati/Dorito spellcard)

A triangle will spawn, spin and shrink, and summon a ring of stars (or round bullets) and hearts, however, the hearts disappear after a bit, so you only have to dodge the stars. This holds true for all 3 phases of this card.

First Phase

The first phase has static positions. They are as follows:

  1. One in the center
  2. Two at the top left and top right
  3. Two at the bottom left and bottom right
  4. One in the center
  5. Two at the bottom left and bottom right, and one at the top middle
  6. Two at the top left and top right, and one at the bottom middle
  7. Two at the top right and bottom right, and one at the left middle
  8. Two at the top left and bottom left, and one at the right middle
  9. Four from the corners

Second Phase (Starting at around 62s)

The triangles spawn at your location now, and the rate of spawn increases as time goes on. The easiest method is to go around the screen in circles.

Third Phase (Starting at around 30s)

The triangles spawn in sets of three, equally spread at the sides of the screen, and circle around, spawning round bullets instead of stars. Make sure you're looking from all sides. Don't stand in the middle when the card ends, because Junko spawns there for 1 frame, and can ram you with her hitbox.

"First and Last Nameless Danmaku"

Junko and Hecatia team up to take you down. Junko shoots rings (surprise surprise) while Hecatia shoots kunai. If you shoot Hecatia, she will gradually shoot more kunai, but if you shoot Junko, the rings' rate of fire increases. Note that you only need to deplete one of their lifebars to end the attack, but shooting Junko will give you 0% shooting bonus, giving you no points.
