keep a threads たぐり寄せた答え 絡み合う未来 意味を成さぬ逃避 どこか悲しげな瞳に 写る後悔、心の雨

keep a threads taguriyoseta kotae karamiau mirai imi wo nasanu touhi dokoka kanashige na hitomi ni utsuru koukai, kokoro no ame

Keep a thread I approached an uncertain answer On our chained futures Without obtaining a reason, I escape Anywhere in these sad eyes You can see regret, the rain of my heart

keep my hope 意図のない微笑み 変わらない願い 包み込んだ温もり(温度) 今を紡ぐ一針から 零れ落ちた私の声

keep my hope ito no nai hohoemi kawaranai negai tsutsumikonda ondo ima wo tsumugu hitohari kara koboreochita atashi no koe

Keep my hope My unintentional smile My unchanged wish The wrapped warmth The present moves from one o’clock My voice scattered

君はここで永久の日を待った 朽ちる糸に 面影は無いよ

kimi wa koko de towa no hi wo matta kuchiru ito ni omokage wa nai yo

You waited here for an eternal day Where there aren’t traces of the rotten thread

語れば偽り想いは過去へと変わる 信じてた道筋ははかなく 変わらないものなど何も無い それを知ったとき 終末は息をして心を染める

katareba itsuwari omoi wa kako e to kawaru shinjiteta michisuji wa hakanaku kawaranai mono nado nanimonai sore wo shitta toki shuumatsu wa iki wo shite kokoro wo someru

If a lie could turn back time The path I’ve always trusted in would be vain There’s nothing which can’t change When I understood that The end started breath, seizing my heart

keep a threads 積み重ねた言葉 出口の無い暗闇へのループ もしも明日を描けるなら 君の事を許せただろう

keep a threads tsumikasaneta kotoba deguchi no nai kurayami e no ruupu moshimo asu wo egakeru nara kimi no koto wo yuruseta darou

Keep a thread The words are piled up Without exit, is the loop of the dark If I’ll ever be able to drawn a tomorrow You will be forgiven

僕はここで変わる日を待った 朽ちる糸に今「サヨナラ」を告げる

boku wa koko de kawaru hi wo matta kuchiru ito ni ima "sayonara" wo tsugeru

I waited here a different day I’m saying “farewell” to this rotten thread

keep a threads たぐり寄せた答え 何も無い未来 意味を成さぬ逃避 すべて諦めた瞳に 写る後悔、心の雨

keep a threads taguriyoseta kotae nanimonai mirai imi wo nasanu touhi subete akirameta hitomi ni utsuru koukai, kokoro no ame

Keep a thread I approached an uncertain answer On an empty future Without obtaining a reason, I escape In these eyes, where everything is abandoned You can see regret, the rain of my heart

語れば偽り想いは過去へと変わる 信じてた温もりは冷たく 変わらないものなど何も無い それを知ったとき 終末手を伸ばし心を奪う

katareba itsuwari omoi wa kako e to kawaru shinjiteta nukumori wa tsumetaku kawaranai mono nado nanimonai sore wo shitta toki shuumatsu wo te wo nobashi kokoro wo ubau

If a lie could turn back time The warmth I’ve always believed in would freeze There’s nothing which can’t change When I understood that The end reached my hand, and stole my heart

Translator's Notes

“絡み合う未来 / On our chained futures”; this phrase can be read also as “About a future meeting”. Everything depends if you want to keep the words 「絡み」and「合う」 separated or not. As for me, I preferred to keep them as an unique verb, since the literal meaning is “Future became entangled”.

“意味を成さぬ逃避 / Without obtaining a reason, I escape”; I kind of messed up with the meaning of this phrase. 「成さぬ」is an archaic form for「成さない」, so the meaning is among the line “I don’t reach a meaning, escape”. Anyway, when comparing my translation, I truly couldn’t understand why it should be in that other way. Thus, this is the phrase I still have doubts about.

“包み込んだ温もり (温度) / The wrapped warmth”; for once in a while, I’ve kept as meaning「温もり」and not「温度」, the word which is actually pronounced, since the latter one means “temperature” not as wealth –for what I know.

“今を紡ぐ一針から / The present moves from one o’clock”; the verb used is actually “to spin”. I’ve read this as a “The time keeps moving on”, that’s why I preferred using another verb.

“語れば偽り想いは過去へと変わる / If a lie could turn back time”; I’ve used a noun, but normally this would’ve be translated as “to tell lies”. Anyway, the second half of the phrase literally is “To change (something) in the past”. Read this as “If a simple lie allows me to change the things in the past”; or at least, this is how I saw this one.

“もしも明日を描けるなら / If I’ll ever be able to drawn a tomorrow”; I wasn’t able to give the right sense in the translation, so here I am, trying to explain. The phrase in Japanese sounds almost like a prayer; or better, it sounds like “If someone will ever give me the chance to be able to draw a tomorrow”. It’s funny how in Japanese a single word adds tons of emphasis, while in English to give the idea of this emphasis you need to add tons of words. Anyway, I hope you grasped the meaning.

“終末手を伸ばし心を奪う / The end reached my hand, and stole my heart”; the last part of the phrase means “to be completely fascinating by”. You can read this phrase also as “The end reached my hand, and completely fascinated me”; anyway, due to the context, I preferred using “to steal the heart”, I think it fits better the song.
