Although they were fearsome, Suwako Moriya was able to tame them and bring them under her command, gaining a large amount of faith and establishing a small kingdom for herself in the process. When Kanako Yasaka invaded the kingdom and took control of the Moriya Shrine, the shrine's followers feared that their new goddess would be unable to control the Mishaguji and did not give Kanako their faith, forcing her to seek Suwako's help.
