特徴	Characteristics
外の世界の生きている人間である。	They are the humans that live in the outside world.
外の世界の人間と言っても、服装や髪型、言葉遣い等に差はあるものの、幻想郷の人間と明確な違いはない。	While they come from the outside world and have different clothing, hairstyles and speech patterns, there is no clearly defined difference from the people of Gensokyo.
殆どの人間がパニック状態に陥っているが、それは当然だろう。	Most of these humans are in a state of panic, but it should be natural.
外の人間の知識は、我々より遥かに深く、未知の道具を使いこなす。	The knowledge they possess is far more profound than ours, and they handle tools yet unknown to us.
幻想郷の人間も妖怪も、そういった外の世界の影響を受けやすく、外来人から新しい事を学ぶと、それが一時的な流行となったりする（＊１）。	Both the humans and youkai of Gensokyo are easily influenced by the outside world, and when they learn something new from an outsider, that will become popular for a while (*1).
殆どの外来人は、妖怪に捕まるとすぐ食べられるか、妖怪が飽きてしまうと食べられてしまう。	Almost all outsiders are caught by youkai and eaten at once, or get eaten once the youkai lose interest in them.
運良く人間の里に辿り着いた場合は、博麗神社に連れて行けば、無事に外の世界に帰す事が出来る。	If an outsider is fortunate and manages to find the human village, they can be returned safely to the outside world if they go to the Hakurei Shrine.
だが、ごく稀に幻想郷に住み着く者も居る。	However, there are also rare cases where outsiders settle into Gensokyo.
そういった外来人は、特殊な知識を持った人間として重宝される。	Such outsiders are treasured, since they hold unique knowledge.
外来人の共通した特徴	Common Characteristics Among Outsiders
・すぐに携帯電話という道具を耳に当て、その後途方に暮れる。	*They immediately put a tool called a "mobile phone" to their ears, and after that are at a loss as of what to do next.
その道具から不吉な音でも鳴っているのだろうか。	Perhaps this tool emits sinister sounds.
・妖怪を見ても逃げない、戦わない。	*Even if they see youkai, they will neither run nor fight.
喰われる気満々である。	They are willing to become eaten.
・そのくせ、幽霊を見ると一目散に逃げる。	*In spite of this, if they see a phantom they´ll run away at full speed.
妖怪より危険ではないが……。	Even though they are less dangerous than youkai...
・外の世界に関する知識が希薄。	*They hold little knowledge about the outside world.
道具を使いこなす割りに、その道具の原理も作り方も知らない。	Despite using those tools, they know little of the theory and construction of them.
例えば携帯電話なんかもその一つである。	The mobile phone is an example of this.
だから、幻想郷で外の世界の道具を複製できないのは残念だ。	Therefore, it is impossible to reproduce the tools of the outside world in Gensokyo. Regrettable, indeed.
＊１　最近では、サッカーというスポーツが流行った。そんな感じで、幻想郷は中途半端であるが外の世界に染まっている。	1: Lately, a sport called "soccer" has become popular. In this manner, Gensokyo is halfway infected with the outside world.
