なんだか良く判らないけど、薬屋さんが鬼気迫る
勢いで気を飛ばしていました。
薬の調合って大変なんですね。
Translation
I don't really know why, but this pharmacist
had a ghastly aura about her.
Making medicine must be difficult.

何でしょう。聞いたことのない物を見せて
もらいました。この方は珍品を多く持つ
好事家としても有名なんですよね。
Translation
What is this? I've been shown something
I've never heard of. This person seems to be a
famous collector of rare objects.

とんでもなく速い蝶の夢を見ました。
きっと薬の所為だと思うけど、目が覚めても
忘れないように写真に収めておきました。
Translation
I had a dream of impossibly fast butterflies.
It was definitely the medicine, but when I
woke up, I took pictures to make sure I didn't forget.

熱いです! もの凄く熱い。
こんな石は見たことが無いですね。
強いて言えば石焼き芋の石くらいです。
Translation
Hot! Really, really hot.
I've never seen a rock like this before.
I'd say it's something like a cooking rock.

薬屋さんって水銀を扱うんですね。
何に使うのかって聞いたんですけど……
企業秘密みたい。毒薬か、不死の薬か。
Translation
The pharmacist deals with mercury.
I asked her what she needs it for...
Seems like a trade secret. Poison? Immortality?

こんなに大きな板が一枚板?にわかに信じられ
ません。本物だとすると、今幻想郷にある
どの木よりも大きな木が必要じゃないですか。
Translation
I can't believe that such a large board is
really just one board. If so, wouldn't you
need a tree larger than any in Gensokyo?

強烈な幻覚作用を持つお香の様です。
香りには強い私ですが、流石にこれは長持ち
しそうにありません。写真で伝わるかどうか…
Translation
This fragrance makes one to become severely hallucinogenic.
Even though I can handle strong smells, I couldn't
hold it for a long time. But would a picture tell the story...?

新難題「ミステリウム」 (Shin Nandai "Misuteriumu")
New Impossible Request "Mysterium" [7]
Owner
Kaguya Houraisan

Comment
全くなんだか判らない物を見せてもらいました。
輝夜さんはこれを「ミステリウム(謎物質)」と
言っていました。こんな感じで記事になるかな?
Translation
I really have no idea about this thing.
Kaguya-san called this "Mysterium".
Is this enough to write about?

Notes[edit]

  1. Ilmenite: Iron Titanium Oxide, FeTiO3. The moon is a reservoir of ilmenite.
  2. Butterfly Dream: a legend of Zhuangzi, who is a famous philosopher in ancient China.
  3. Butterfly Dream Pill - Nightmare Type: a medicine developed by Eirin in Bohemian Archive in Japanese Red. One can dream any nightmare he/she wants to dream.
  4. Red Stone of Aja: a ruby-like gem in a manga "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (ジョジョの奇妙な冒険)".
  5. In ancient China, it was believed that mercury (quicksilver) is an elixir (of course, it is a deadly poison in fact). It is said that there is a mercury sea in the imperial underground tomb of the first Qin Emperor.
  6. Kinkaku-ji: a golden temple in Kyoto. The truth of the seamlessness is uncertain, because the ceiling had been already burned in a fire.
  7. Mysterium: a coined term meaning "mysterious material", not mystery in Latin. -ium is a suffix attached to names of atoms.
