Who's Who of Humans & Youkai in Gensokyo
Rin Kaenbyou
Rin Kaenbyou is a type of youkai known as a "kasha", though she prefers to be called "Orin" since she hates how long her actual name is. She appeared as the stage 4 midboss of Subterranean Animism in the form of a cat before revealing her true identity in stage 5. The story of Subterranean Animism is that the heroine went to explore the underground in order to investigate the mystery surrounding the vengeful spirits appearing on the surface world. Said vengeful spirits were Orin's SOS signal to the youkai above ground.
火車 Kasha
The kasha is a type of youkai who appears out of nowhere and carries away corpses. If you were to look away, the kasha will suddenly carry the corpse away with their favorite wheelbarrows. It seems that the kasha prefer taking human corpses, though they don't really do anything to those corpses. They don't have any particular interest in people who are not dead, nor do they have much interest in corpses that are properly buried.
Orin is capable of understanding and communicating with dead bodies and spirits in general, therefore, she's usually helping Satori by managing the vengeful spirits that lurk within the Remains of Blazing Hell. It seems that the vengeful spirits have become attached to Orin and enjoy talking with her.

Up ahead is animal paradise (laugh). I feel like we instinctively avoid corpses, so I thought maybe an animal character who wasn't afraid of death would fit right into Hell. Doesn't an innocent character who manipulates corpses just feel so hopelessly unpleasant? But more than dark, it's pop dark. A pop dark character.
