吉弔という亀のような龍のような妖怪です。背中に甲羅を背負っているというと、亀仙人（※編注：鳥山明著『ドラゴンボール』の登場人物）しか思い浮かびませんでした。彼女も亀仙人をイメージしていますが、こっちは本物なので甲羅の取り外しは出来ないと思います。	The Jidiao is a tortoise/dragon-esque youkai. When you think of someone with a shell on their back, one tends to default to thinking of Master Roshi (Editor's note: a character from "Dragon Ball" by Akira Toriyama). Yachie also carries the image of Master Roshi, but the shell on her back is the real thing, so I don't think she can remove it.
デザイン的には甲羅より尻尾の方が目立つようにしました。亀より、龍の方が強そうですもんね。まあ、どっちつかずなんですけど。	In terms of design, I made the tail stand out more than the shell. Dragons seem to be stronger than tortoises, right? Well, I think it's more of a toss-up between the two.

華奢な体とシンプルで軽やかな衣装がかえって組長としての八千慧の強さ、怖さを表しているような気がします。でもカワウソ霊に囲まれているところを想像すると和む……。地獄のイメージで赤く荒れた地面と赤い光で統一してみました。	I think Yachie's delicate body and light clothing show her strong and dreadful image as a Yakuza boss. But it's also soothing to imagine her being surrounded by Otter spirits...I tried to unify the image of Hell with red lights and a red, rough ground.

Personality 八千慧は「鬼形獣」４面のボス。荒れ果てた大地が続く広い地獄を捜索する主人公の前に現れて、倒すべき敵のところまで（腕試しを挟みつつ）案内してくれる。	Personality Yachie is the stage 4 boss of Wily Beast and Weakest Creature. She appeared before the heroine, who was searching through a wide and desolate part of Hell, and guides the heroine to an enemy she wants to be defeated (but not before testing her strength).
その正体は親切な通行人などではなく畜生界を牛耳る組織の一つである鬼傑組の長で、カワウソ霊たちのボス。４面で登場したのも、主人公を確実に八千慧たちの敵のもとへ向かわせるためだった。この、畜生界に現れた驚異的な存在を打ち倒すために普段は敵対している他の大きな組織と同盟を組み、「動物霊が幻想郷を支配しようとしている」という話をでっちあげて、脅威と対抗しうる人間を動物霊を使って地上から招き入れるという一連の策謀を立てたのが八千慧である。彼女は「鬼形獣」で起こっている異変の実質的な黒幕なのだ。	But in reality, she isn't just some friendly passerby, but the matriarch of the Kiketsu Family, one of the organizations that dominates the Animal Realm, and the boss of the Otter spirits. She had appeared during stage 4 to make sure that the heroine was headed towards Yachie's enemies. In order to defeat an extraordinary being that had appeared in the Animal Realm, she formed an alliance with the other organizations that were otherwise hostile with one another and fabricated the story that the beast spirits were trying to take over Gensokyo, in order to lure in a human from the surface world alongside a beast spirit to counter this threat. In fact, it was Yachie who had devised this series of schemes, so that would therefore make her the true mastermind behind the events of Wily Beast and Weakest Creature.
