Talk:Curiosities of Lotus Asia/Chapter 08

I noticed that none of Summer Plum Hall and beyond have been transcribed (save a few) or translated, so I've copied a little of the .png file down. Is there any specific reason why it hasn't been translated past this point yet, or has no one just got round to doing it yet? Thanks. --Mikanosuke

The latter, I suspect. I was thinking of having a go at it after CiLR (well, I need to stop being lazy and finish CoLA 25), but Nietz has actually been working through them. Still, Nietz has been the only person working on them consistently recently, and there's only so much one person can do at a time. (I might start working backwards from the end at some point. Or not. Any help is greatly apreciated. I was going through the chapters in order, but I can already see that it will be hard for me to transcribe from the scans, there's a lot of kanji I can barely make out. Sorry for the rather late reply. Since a three day weekend just begun, I should be able to translate more of Chapter 5 (8 & 9) this weekend, if that's alright? If everything is fine, then I'll just leave it at Summer Plum Hall for me to translate, and then see how it goes later? I don't want to hinder anyone due to a slow translation because of studying. (By the way, when encountering a kanji that's difficult to make out from the scans but you can make out a couple of radicals, I find the program JQuickTrans is pretty useful, since you can input them and narrow your search gradually.) --Mikanosuke 03:19, 1 December 2007 (JST)

Just a suggestion: There's nothing really wrong now, but you could use English nouns like 'you' and 'she' more often. In Japanese it's normal to use names instead of nouns, but in English it sounds too loaded, or like the characters are speaking to others in the third person. For example, "Rinnosuke should do his 'things he needs to do' and stay there." could be "You should do your 'things you need to do' and stay there, Rinnosuke." --Nietz 10:48, 2 January 2008 (PST)
