Possible Big Mistranslation

月符「ムーンライトレイ」 is being translated as Moon Sign "Moonlight Ray". I've overseen this point, but might "符" have to be translated as "card", not as "sign"? Perhaps some translator decided that "符" was to be interpreted as the meaning in "符号" (code, sign) or "音符" (musical note), but this intepretation is a little strange for me.
符 is composed of "竹" (bamboo) & "付", which means "two-divided bamboo slips, which is made of one plate having a letter and being cut into two. They are used for the purpose that the person or mission is going to join a half of it to the other half the other group has, and read the letter on them when they meet for the important conference and agreement, in order to confirm to each other that the people having it belong to the group they made the slips together if the faced person is different.
And as the time had gone, that slip wasn't seen in everyday's life, then "符" was about to be let to hold another meaning "slip, plate, or card which has an important letter, or religiously-important mystic words, on it", "the content which the letter of slip, plate, or card suggests. a divine predictor", and "written sign indicating another certain thing or rule. symbol".
"Sign" for "符" follow the last interpretation, but I think the first (not two-divided slips!) is better, because the pretty characters show it and announce they use Spell Card. What do you think of this point? Perhaps a numerous number of fixing are needed. Too heavy work... --Masuo64 04:52, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

I think the English patch is being conformed to within this translation and within others, which is unfortunate given the large number of mistakes there exist. But the patches themselves are labors of love, well-intentioned, and very helpful for the English Touhou community, and are beyond reproach, so the issue is kind of stuck in limbo. Thanx for replying. And well, I mean, this mistranslation is affected to many many other Spell Cards. --Masuo64 16:17, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

Headers

I'm starting to add headers to all these pages. For pages like this in EoSD, or for extra stages throughout the series, where the spell cards don't have different versions for different difficulties, I'm basically just labeling what's the midboss and what's the boss. The format I'm using now isn't necessarily meant to be definitive, so if someone has an opinion about it they can feel free to share. Flan27 (talk) 01:28, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

That being said, EoSD might be pretty awkward for this, which I've realized in just level two. For now I'll treat the EoSD stages as extra stages, but I might go back later and change things. Flan27 (talk) 01:32, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
