Album dump - All albums released recently that may need to be added to the list!

Note to contributors: Read this first!

  • When uploading images, use the following naming scheme:
  • Albums with catalogno
    catalogno.ext (ie: ABCD-1234.jpg)
    catalogno_banner.ext (ie: ABCD-1234_banner.jpg)
  • Albums without catalogno
    albumname.ext (ie: my_heart.jpg
    albumname_banner.ext (ie: my_heart_banner.jpg)
  • When adding a new album to the circle (group) listing, use the following format
album_name (release year)
ie: My Heart (2010)
  • If an album name conflicts with an existing page, add the circle's name to the page name
ie: [[My heart_(tsuki) | My Heart]] (2010)
  • When adding a new circle, list it alphabetically.
  • If a new circle is in japanese, try to find an english name or try to romanize it. It is ok if you can't. If you can, it should be listed with the translated name first
translated_name (original name)
ie: Hachimitsu Kuma-san (はちみつくまさん)
  • Note that some circles have been romanized so search the page (ctrl+F) before adding it
  • If you are getting information from vgmdb or CDwiki, you can use some of the tools I wrote to make it easier

Happy editing! --Tsukihime 07:51, 31 December 2010 (PST)

Page Template

  • Hey guys! In an effort to standardize our doujin CD listings and to make them a lot easier to create, I've created a page describing a format for the pages. Something like this format has already been used for many albums. It was my favorite, so. If you guys are thinking of creating pages, please go there. Darkslime 16:31, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Unfinished category stuffs

  • I'm considering a few of the albums finished and removing them from the category. I will, however, add an "Unreviewed" category for ease of use. or something. Darkslime 17:46, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Ok so like, apparently you can't remove stuff from the Unfinished category. meh. Darkslime 17:50, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Reviewing

  • While I realize this is not the ideal place to add a comment on this subject, it 'will' likely be noticed before a comment on a single album page - there are a number of articles with reviews and review stubs. Stubs merely asking for a genre citation, although, as stated, there are actual reviews contained in a number of the articles, for example 紅魔狂詩曲 Scarlet Rapsodia - perhaps I am just being anal, but to my knowledge a wiki was for factual information, not the opinions of a single fan. Basically, anyone have strong objections to their removal? Factual information such as genre can be worked into the albums info box if need be - Schine 23:55, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
It can be considered useful information when one is looking for new albums to listen to. Mentioning outstanding or characteristic tracks can help as well. I agree that personal opinions should not be presented as facts, but there is enough room for both on the wiki as long as they are labelled properly. 129.31.67.177 00:30, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I agree, adding personal opinions isn't a good idea in general with wikis. As a compromise, maybe people could review them on their own userpages/external sites and link them, rather than clutter the official info pages (like how wikipedia offers external links to imdb, etc)? Oreng3 03:15, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Would anyone please add Maikaze? I have many lyrics for them, and the last 3 discs have really awseome music, but i'm really bad at this wiki stuff... XD

Are there any broader sections you can fit these in?

there's currently 299 wanted pages, and a huge number of them are coming from the many dead links on this page. Would anyone care if I just removed the link code from every name in this list of groups that doesn't have a page made for it already? The majority of names in this list are red as it is, and it shouldn't be a problem for people to just edit this page to add the link code on whatever name they make a page for when they do make the page.

I went ahead and did it. Now there's only 157 wanted pages, which makes it much easier to sort through the wanted pages list to find things people can make pages for without every other one being from this page. If someone wants, they could still rollback the change I just made.

Another group to add: NJK Record.

And so I was like, I'll add in everything I can find from the Touhou Doujin CD wiki. I already finished all the A's. God damn there are a lot of circles doing this.

Hey guys, since this page is x-box hueg, would anyone object if I moved all the "older" circles - circles that haven't released a Touhou album in oh, say, two years or so - to a separate page, and left the ones that are alive at the moment here? Just an idea. If I ever finish listing all the albums, and there's no answer, I'll probably go ahead and do it. Darkslime 17:19, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Add templates to the List By Groups?

For example, under Golden City Factory section, just put in the template for that section? MaronaPossessed 08:22, 27 November 2010 (PST)

Using the example on your page as a reference, doing it this way would be kinda gaudy. Additionally, the links on the navbox are smaller and more cramped together compared to the regular links. This works for navigating within a circle's albums, but not for one huge link repository. I'm more in favor of keeping the format the way it is now. jigglyppuff8 Talk Contribs 09:17, 27 November 2010 (PST)
I know it's crammed but it could be convenient. For example, if Golden City Factory had a new album out, then all we gotta do is go update the template and it'll affect all the albums plus the list by group area. MaronaPossessed 12:12, 28 November 2010 (PST)
I agree with this. Aesthetics aside, how much harder would it be to do so anyways? If it means getting more done with the same amount of effort (ie: being a slacker yet getting it done) I'm all for it. Someone said I'm not a "true wiki'er" because I use scripts to generate layouts rather than doing it by hand for that matter! --Tsukihime 17 Dec 2010

Kanji names, wrong sections

I've noticed a number of the groups are listed under the wrong heading, mainly the ones that are listed with their kanji/kana but without a romanization. I don't know if it's because people just can't read it or don't know how it works (ie: し does not go under さ even though they both start with an S in romaji), but that gives even more reason to just avoid all of this kanji in the first place and stick to romaji. But ok, I will think about it from another perspective: I realize that perhaps all of the ones that start with a romaji S has been decided to go under "さ" because it's easier for people, but really. Having kanji is probably completely useless to most of the people that are using them anyways. This is the english wiki after all and most people are probably going to search using roman characters and will recognize them by their romanized names. I don't really understand the point of using the "'original' japanese names" as there are romanized versions on this site already! --Tsukihime 17 Dec 2010

Renaming categories

I want all of the group names to be displayed primarily in romaji. At least, there should not be any japanese category names on this page. All album pages will not be touched. --Tsukihime 10:22, 21 December 2010 (PST)

The proposed change would flip the existing "Kanji (romaji)" names to "Romaji (Kanji)", so that the original name is preserved for searching, but it would make it less confusing and easier to sort alphabetically. --Tsukihime 12:06, 21 December 2010 (PST)
Renamed and moved a number of circles. Most of it is straight romanization, some are based off vgmdb, and others are simply based on what seems to be used on their site. --Tsukihime 18:25, 22 December 2010 (PST)

Image filename standards

Perhaps we should agree on some standard for image names? Right now I use the following

Albums with catalogno

catalogno_cover.ext
catalogno_banner.ext

Albums with no catalogno

album_name_cover.ext
album_name_banner.ext

Only so make it clear that it is a cover or banner. Later we might have other things related to a group so...
—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tsukihime (talkcontribs) 16:52, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Well I suggest that:
  • Albums with catalogno
    catalogno.ext
    catalogno_banner.ext
  • Albums without catalogno
    albumname.ext
    albumname_banner.ext
This is more neatly than previous _cover naming scheme - KyoriAsh 09:03, 26 December 2010 (PST)
Guess we'll go with that. --Tsukihime 10:37, 26 December 2010 (PST)

Tracklist template

We should agree on a track list template quickly so that new albums added will not have to be re-parsed. Since we may be using semantic wiki in the future a template would be preferred. Even if we are not using it, a template would still be preferred. --Tsukihime 07:53, 31 December 2010 (PST)

Why I think that a template should not be used. jigglyppuff8 Talk Contribs 11:00, 31 December 2010 (PST)

Ezel-Ash

Where is it? They have a bunch of songs, and they're not listed.

It seems that Ezel-Ash is listed under E館, based on the group's website. I have updated the listing to include both names. Unfortunately, the current list by group format only allows for albums to be listed there, and seeing how the group doesn't release albums (therefore, does not have an actual CD), there isn't a way to write down their works even though they have a couple dozen arrange songs on their site. --Tsukihime 04:41, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Why not just add them with their site url in place of an album? People do use this place as a source to find new music sometimes. IDK what people's thoughts on that is though...
That would work. Currently I prioritize album links over anything else, and if I don't find an album link I usually just leave it blank. But realistically speaking not all albums would have their own dedicated webpage so it would make sense to put up their homepage. --Tsukihime 12:38, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Guest Appearances

The wiki currently doesn't seem to list a groups guest appearances on other groups albums. Is this ok to add anyway, and that case how?

I was thinking of adding a page to the album list called "guest appearances" or something similar and on that page list the pages of other groups albums and information about the tracks they've contributed with.

One example is CROW'SCLAW. Guest appearances are listed on this page at the bottom [1]. --Svinto 2011-04-30 22:15 (UTC)

I would think it is enough to just indicate that in the album that the artist appeared in. Some people have included such information in the respective albums as "guest features" or "guest arrangers" and then noted which track. Of course this doesn't mean you'll find which ones they appeared in, and for example some vocalists that appear everywhere people sort of get lazy.
However, I think their circle page would be a good place to put it, as most guest appearances are for like one track or something --Tsukihime 14:52, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Looking at it again, the current album standards lists any guest appearances in the staff list with their group indicated beside it. --Tsukihime 15:19, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Ok, so guest appearances should go in the track information on each album page, and it's ok to add info about guest appearances on the circle page. Sounds good. --Svinto 2011-05-01 22:12 (UTC)

白楽亭

I haven't been able to find any info on this group in English. CROW'SCLAW made a guest appearance on one of their albums: 閻魔日和 --Svinto 2011-04-30 22:26 (UTC)

First time I've heard of the group. Seems like they've only produced one album as well. Then again, it was pretty hard to navigate their blog lol. Do you know if he has more than one? I found this on vgmdb and it sort of looks like what he likes --Tsukihime 14:58, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
The only reason I found them was because I'm trying to get hold of track 06. Consequence of her deeds~獄熱絶己~ by CROW'SCLAW. The track is really good IMO so I'm surprised no one seems to know anything. I know nothing more I'm afraid. --Svinto 2011-05-01 22:06 (UTC)
