What does Usatei mean?

It might help to keep in mind that there is no character for "wi" in Katakana (at least, I don't know of any), so the name "Tewi" would instead be spelled like "Tei." --ArseneLupin3 23:11, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

There is (ヰ), it's just obsolete, like ゐ.

Historically, the ancient Japanese should have the sound "w", or the line わゐうゑを. But around the Kamakura era, that language lost the sound, then one of the poets thought at that time that it indicated the height of pitch. Now, presentday Japanese has neither; most people could get upset when they're forced to read it, because it's out of date. --Masuo64 03:34, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
